The article describes a method of integrating small distributed generation components in the power system of the Republic of Vietnam. The features of the energy system of Vietnam and the technologies used for mini thermal power plants are considered. The classification of small distributed generation components is presented with implantation of the most used resources of Vietnam—fossil and renewable. A generalized methodology for selection and calculation of technological schemes for mini thermal power plants is considered. The schemes of steam-turbine mini thermal power plants operating with coal and gas-turbine mini thermal power plants with solar air heaters are selected. Based on the calculation of the selected mini thermal power plant schemes, their distribution in the territory of the Republic of Vietnam has been obtained. The thermoeconomic efficiency has been chosen as the criterion for the best option for placing mini thermal power plants; its value for the proposed option is of 6.77%.

In the global energy sector, there is a steady trend towards an increase in the production and consumption of energy. As the analysis of the technology has shown, mini-Thermal Power Plants (TPP) are one of the key solutions to the problem. The construction, as well as the reconstruction of existing boiler houses in the mini-TPP will not only ensure more efficient use of fuel through the combined production of electric and thermal energy, but also improve the reliability of power supply to settlements and industrial enterprises

The work is devoted to the analysis of the current state and prospects of modernization of the fuel and energy complex and investments in renewable energy in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in Ukraine, adaptation of an economic and mathematical model adequate to this process, allowing for rational distribution of investments, which in Ukraine plans to attract to development of the energy system and renewable energy as part of the implementation of the strategy “Vectors of Economic Development 2030”, the collection of potential sources of funds for the development and construction of thermal power plants using alternative fuels on the basis of existing heat supply enterprises in Ukraine. In the article it is recommended to use the add-in “Search for a solution” MS Excel for performing calculations according to the proposed deterministic model of a partially integer linear programming problem with boolean variables. As a result of the implementation of the proposed approach, moderate protection of the main producers (network operators) – heat supply utilities will be provided and market conditions for independent producers will be created, the operator will be encouraged to increase the efficiency of its own production.

The existing issues during the combustion of Kazakh coal from the Ekibastuz basin in the Omsk energy system are noted. The environmental problems of coal generation in Omsk are outlined. The possibility of transferring the Omsk coal-fired thermal power plants to the combustion of domestic coals is considered. The options for increasing the efficiency of using solid fossil fuel in the production of electric and thermal energy are given. The existing problem of storing ash and slag wastes obtained by burning high-ash Ekibastuz coals is noted. The transfer of the Omsk CHPPs to the combustion of brown coal from the Kansk-Achinsky deposit, provided that highly effective environmentally friendly technologies are used It is noted that the technology of combustion of fuels in a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) has been industrially developed and implemented in power boilers. The results of operation of the first in Russia CFB boiler of unit No. 9 with a capacity of 330 MW at the Novocherkasskaya SDPP are presented
