Extensive high temperature solid particle rebound characteristics testing and analysis has been continuing at the University of Cincinnati. These measurements have been done in the high temperature erosion wind tunnel facility. The target material effect on rebounding characteristics when exposed to high temperatures has been investigated analytically. In addition, measurements have been completed for the following target materials: INCO 718, Ti 6-4, 2024 Al, Lead and Beryllium. Useful particle rebound characteristics have been derived from the measured data. The measured impulse relationship can be used to estimate the force interaction between the particle and the target material during the impact event. The particle rebound characteristics are very important parameters for calculating the particle trajectories and consequently predicting the erosion damages.
