KLL Auger transition rates for Ne and Na+ are obtained from the resonant behaviour of the S matrix for electron scattering by Ne2+ and Na3+ respectively. Both the close coupling and distorted wave methods are used to compute the S scattering matrix. Our results arc in good agreement with experimental data and also with Kelly's theoretical Ne results.
