Cerebral abscesses of odontogenic origin are uncommon. Cerebral abscesses are often caused by cardiac and pulmonary disease or infections such as skin or abdominal infections. However, there have been some reported incidences of cerebral abscesses caused by odontogenic infection. This paper aims to discuss a case report whereby an odontogenic infection was the most probable cause of a cerebral abscess in a paediatric patient. CPD/Clinical Relevance: To discuss the importance of oral disease as a potential causative factor for cerebral infection.

ABSTRACT Albright hereditary osteodystrophy is a disorder comprising phenotypic characteristics of genetic origin, such as short stature, obesity, and brachydactyly. It is a rare disorder and is related to pseudohypoparathyroidism. Within dentistry, it may be associated with enamel hypoplasia and late eruption. Furthermore, due to neurological problems, these patients may impose behavioural difficulties during dental appointments. The present study aims to describe the case of a patient with a possible diagnosis of Albright hereditary osteodystrophy, presenting symptoms and limitations to dental management.

AbstractCongenital hypothyroidism (CHT) is one of the most common thyroid disorders. It occurs because of dysgenesis of thyroid gland which is responsible for the normal development of neural system. Child patient suffering from congenital hypothyroidism shows various medical and behavioral symptoms which makes routine dental care very challenging to the pediatric dentist. Due to increased awareness and introduction of neonatal screening, the long term hypothyroidism has become rare. The most significant oral conditions related to these patients are delayed eruption and dental caries. The present case report outlines the dental treatment of a 9yr old girl with congenital hypothyroidism.
