Structural Consequences of Halogen Bonding in Dialkylimidazolium: A New Design Strategy for Ionic Liquids Illustrated with the I2 Cocrystal and Acetonitrile Solvate of 1,3-Dimethylimidazolium Iodide
Utilising the non-volatility of ionic liquids, we demonstrate here that perfluoroidides can be stored with the aid of halogen bonding and released controllably from an ionic liquid matrix.
