Protecting group free, one-pot multicomponent Curtius reaction was utilized to afford diurethane G-1 dendron. In our synthetic approach, G-1 dendron can undergo late-stage modification using thiol-ene click reaction, which was then attached to the core to furnish a dendrimer. In another approach, the G-1 dendron was attached to the core and so formed dendrimer was surface functionalized using thiol-ene click chemistry. Either way, we can synthesize the dendrimer.

A novel synthetic approach to the block copolymers bearing diorganosiloxane and organosilsesquioxane blocks is suggested that obviates the need for using organochlorosilane precursors. A series of the polymers with different combinations of oligodimethylsiloxane and oligomethylphenylsiloxane flexible blocks with methylsilsesquioxane and phenylsilsesquioxane rigid blocks is prepared. The thermal properties of the films obtained from these polymers are explored.

Polymer micelles were formed using thiol-epoxide “click” chemistry to trigger functionalization-induced self-assembly (FISA) of block copolymers by modifying a reactive glycidyl methacrylate block with solvophobes.

Established CuAAC click reactions are used for the first time to assemble magnetic molecules to an extended molecular arrangement. This novel synthetic approach is expected to be a general approach to link SMMs as an important precondition to realize quantum computing.
