The potential impacts of TiO2 nanotubes on Porphyromonas gingivalis growth and drug resistance were investigated. TiO2 nanotubes antibacterial performance can be manipulated with the photocatalytic activity as well as the geometry characteristic.

The precursor with nanotubes structure can be hydrogenated easily in lower temperature comparing with nanobelts. The light absorption and photocatalytic activity of hydrogenated TiO2 nanotubes were enhanced drastically.

Experimental conditions to fabricate rutile-TiO2 nanotubes coated with a conformal anatase-TiO2 thin layer using ALD were reported. A considerable increase in the photocatalytic activity associated with these surface modifications was also observed.
