SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphors were synthesized under different temperature by high temperature solid phase method. Encapsulation modification of SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ by using SiO2glycol were made over chemically unstable against water. Photoluminescence measurement result shows that when the sintering temperature is 1300 °C, the initial afterglow brightness of SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ is up to the highest, 12101 mcd/m2. FTIR results showed that new IR peaks at 1085 cm−1 due to the vibration of Si-O-Si and at 931cm−1 due to the vibration of Si-O-Al appeared after silica encapsulation. This verified that the silica encapsulation is not only a physical absorption process but also involving chemical bonding process. Both phosphors before and after encapsulation have same emission peak at 510 nm. A dense layer of silica formed on phosphor surface has the highest water-resistance after being encapsulated for 2h under the condition of pH 4 and encapsulation amount 10:1. The pH value of aqueous solution contained phosphor was steadily 8, and the initial afterglow brightness decreased only by 9%, that is, from 12101 to 11011 mcd/m2.

The photocatalyst Fe doped K2La2Ti3O10 for hydrogen production was prepared by three methods such as sol-gel, hydrothermal and solid solution. The effects of preparation method, doped element, sacrificial agent on photocatalytic activity were studied, the properties of samples were characterized with X-ray diffraction(XRD) and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectra(DRS). The photocatalytic activity evaluation measurements showed that the photocatalyst prepared by sol-gel has the highest catalytic activity, and methanol was the best sacrifice agent for hydrogen production from water splitting. UV-Vis DRS results indicated that the doping of Fe could expand the absorbing range to visible light. XRD results showed that the doping of Fe hadn’t change the main construction of catalysts.

Analogs of angiotensin II in which phenylalanine in position 8 was replaced with cymantrenylalanine or with its triphenylphosphine photosubstitution product were synthesized by the solid-phase method. On rabbit aorta strips, these peptides were found to be pure antagonists of angiotensin II. Their relative affinities are higher than most other analogs substituted in position 8 with bulky amino-acids.

In an attempt to determine some of the structural features in position 1 that account for V1 antagonism, four new analogues of arginine-vasopressin were synthesized and the effect of the modifications on the vasoconstrictor activity was checked using isolated mesenteric arterial vessels of rats. The protected precursors required for these analogues were synthesized by a solid phase method of peptide synthesis. One of the reported analogues, namely [1-(4-mercapto-4-tetrahydrothiopyraneacetic acid)., 2-O-methyltyrosine, 8-arginine]vasopressin appears to be a potent competitive antagonist of the vasoconstrictor effect by AVP.

Two {Met(0)6}deacetyl-thymosin β4analogs containing Phe(4F) or Tyr(Me) at position 12 were synthesized by the manual solid-phase method, and their anti-inflammatory effect on carrageenin-induced edema in the mouse paw was studied. Fluorination of the para-position of Phe12resulted in a marked antiinflammatory effect on carrageenin-induced edema in the mouse paw compared with that of our synthetic {Met(0)6}deacetyl-thymosin β4, but the other analog, {Met(0)6, Tyr(Me)12}deacetyl-thymosin β4, showed a marked reduction of the anti-inflammatory effect.
