The theoretical analysis of the γγ → π0η process is presented within the energy range up to 1.4 GeV. The S -wave resonance a0(980) is described involving the coupled channel dispersive framework and the D-wave a2(1320) is approximated as a Breit-Wigner resonance. For the a0(980) the pole is found on the IV Riemann sheet resulting in a two-photon decay width of Γa0 → γγ = 0.27(4) keV. The first dispersive prediction is provided for the single-virtual γγ*(Q2) → π0η process in the spacelike region up to Q2 = 1 GeV2.

The feasibility of a measurement of the partial decay width of the intermediate-mass Higgs boson(MH=120 GeV ) into two photons at a photon-photon collider is studied by a simulation. It is found that the two-photon decay width can be measured with the statistical error of 7.6% with the integrated luminosity of 10fb-1. We also discussed a possibility toward further improvement with sophisticated b-quark tagging technique.

The influence of temperature on the pion decay constant and the two-photon decay of π0 is considered near the chiral symmetry restoration point. We analyze how the mass and decay width relate to each other and find that the π0 decay width in hot matter is suppressed, provided that the pion mass vanishes at the critical point; it diverges if pion mass remains finite while quark condensate is dissolved at T c .

Abstract We have corrected the decay width for the two photon decay widths for scalar and pseudo-scalar Charmonium in [Chinese Physics C Vol.44,No.8(2020)083108]. The decay widths are now in better agreement with the experiment values.
