The KLOE-2 Collaboration succesfully ended its data-taking collecting a total integrated luminosity of 5.5 fb−1 at the peak of the φ(1020) resonance at the DAΦNE collider of the Frascati LNF. New detectors have been added to the KLOE apparatus to improve the detector acceptance, the tracking capability, and also to be able to tag the scattered electrons in γγ processes. By summing the new data sample to the old one of the previous KLOE data-taking ended in 2006, a total of about 8 fb−1 has been collected, corresponding to 24 billions of φ produced. The measurement program of KLOE-2 includes precision studies on kaon and other light mesons, hadronic cross-section, and dark force searches.

Large data amount, about 1 ab−1 of integrated luminosity, collected in experiments with the Belle detector provided a good possibilities for precise measurements of the hadronic cross sections in e+e− annihilation. Main results obtained in this field with the Belle detector as well as perspectives of the new experiments with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB collider is discussed in this report.

The KLOE-2 experiment at the Frascati φ−factory ended its data-taking in March 2018 collecting more than 5 fb−1 at the φ peak. The new data sample, together with the KLOE one, corresponds to 2.4 ×1010 φ and 3.1×108 η meson events. It represents the largest sample ever collected at the φ peak in e+e− colliders, allowing to study light mesons with unprecedented statistics. Recent results obtained with KLOE data on hadron physics e.g. – measurement of the running of the fine structure constant below 1 GeV, the combination of hadron cross section measurements with determination of $ a_\mu ^{\pi \pi } $, the new preliminary η → π+π− limit, and progress in γγ studies – will be presented.

The total photon-proton cross section has been measured in the process e+ p → e+ + γ* p → e+ + X with the ZEUS detector at HERA. Events were accepted with photon virtuality Q2 < 0.02 GeV 2, with average γ* p center-of-mass energy Wγ*p = 207 GeV . The data were recorded in a dedicated, systematics-controlled run with an integrated luminosity of 50 nb -1.

We show how including multiple hard parton collisions one can define a hard hadronic cross section that cannot exceed the total one.
