In recent years, the idea of integration of sustainability into project management has been put forth, which requires a more comprehensive and holistic approach to project management. Integration of sustainability increases the complexity of project management. Therefore, project management organizations require a framework capable of opening up the traditional organization of the project business and providing competitive advantages. This study argues that the open innovation model presents the requisite capability to approach this issue. This research, through a structured review of the literature and an overview of the open innovation and project management knowledge areas, explains how open innovation can provide a fruitful contribution to the integration of sustainable development into project portfolio management and why it should be favoured. The findings show that open innovation can facilitate the environmental, social and economic sustainability of projects, while rendering the project organization more agile.

The object of the research is the processes of managing uncertainties such as risks, conflicts, and factors of behavioral economics, which may have negative consequences for a scientific project. The study revealed that the success of any project depends on the ability of the project manager to effectively manage his team to meet the values of each stakeholder and the goals of the project itself. To solve this goal, it is necessary to complete the following tasks: - analysis of methods of integration of risk management, conflicts, and factors of behavioral economics; - justification of the necessity to build integrated anti-risk management of conflicts in behavioral economics; - to carry out conceptual modeling of integrated anti-risk conflict management in behavioral economics. A conceptual model of integrated anti-risk management of conflicts of a scientific project in the context of behavioral economics is proposed, built on the basis of the "Change Management Iceberg" model. The management of scientific projects has been further developed through the integration of methodologies: project management, the theory of stakeholders, risk management, HR management, conflict management, and behavioral economics. A conceptual scheme of integrated anti-risk management of conflicts of a scientific project in behavioral economics has been developed, which allows a project manager to manage uncertainties (risks, conflicts, factors of behavioral economics). Research refers to the project management methodology and improves it by integrating the processes of risk, conflict, and behavioral economics management into one process. The main goal of the study is to reduce and eliminate all negative consequences in a scientific project, to complete it within the approved budget, terms, and a certain quality.

Among the answers to the new challenges of contemporary environment, cooperation between those who implement development in public administration at state, local and regional levels is increasingly highlighted. Surprisingly, the role of cooperation in developing projects and the maturity of public administrations’ project management organizations for accelerating the development of municipalities have not been researched until now. This study confirms that project cooperation between Slovenian municipalities promotes the municipalities’ orientation for achieving development through projects, and their management awareness of the importance of fundamental managerial functions and other project management concepts and techniques for the successful achievement of development goals.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the influence mechanism of job satisfaction and positive affect on knowledge sharing among project members in Chinese construction industry, and test the moderating role of organizational commitment between them in order to find a new approach from the perspective of psychology to improve the knowledge sharing performance within project management organizations in China constantly. Design/methodology/approach An empirical study was used based on confirmatory factor analysis and hierarchical regression analysis with a sample of 540 project members from 80 project management organizations in China. Findings Research results showed that job satisfaction and positive affect of project members both have a significant positive impact on knowledge sharing; organizational commitment could moderate the influence of job satisfaction and positive affect on knowledge sharing among project members partially within the Chinese context. Research limitations/implications A questionnaire study from China only represents the relationship and regular pattern within a shorter time interval in the Chinese context. It is necessary to continue to implement a longitudinal study in a relatively long period in future research. Practical implications Knowledge sharing among project members can be enhanced through improving job satisfaction and positive affect, and strengthening project members’ organizational commitment can amplify the influence effect of job satisfaction and positive affect on knowledge sharing. Originality/value This paper clarifies the direct influence mechanism of project members’ job satisfaction and positive affect on explicit knowledge sharing (EKS) and tacit knowledge sharing (TKS), and further tests the partial moderating effect of organizational commitment on the influence relationship of job satisfaction and positive affect on EKS and TKS.
