The purpose of this study was to evaluate parents' reactions and understanding of diagnostic information from written reports and conferences in a clinic which provides multidisciplinary evaluations for children with speech, learning, language, and hearing problems. Previous studies and anecdotal reports suggested that many parents do not receive appropriate diagnostic information about their children. In the present study questionnaires were mailed to parents who had received reports of evaluations and most of whom had attended hour-long conferences covering the findings. Questionnaires were also sent to professionals who had received reports. Fifty-seven percent of the parents, and 63% of the professionals returned the questionnaires. Ninety percent of the parents indicated that they had understood the results as they were presented in the conference. Ninety-three percent of the professionals and 89% of the parents stated they understood the conclusions of the written reports .Further, 83% of the parents and 80% of the professionals reported that the findings had made a change in the child's educational or medical treatment. The percentage of parents who reported understanding the findings was greater than expected. The specific informing techniques used in this study are discussed.

Summary1. Caseinolytic and fibrinolytic systems for assay of plasmin in fibrinolytic agents are described which are based upon the determinations of AE/min during the linear portion of the casein-plasmin and fibrin-plasmin reaction curves respectively. A " caseinolytic-rate " unit and “fibrinolytic-rate " unit of ÄE/min × 103 during the linear portion of the respective curves are proposed.2. Data are presented indicating that a reliably linear relationship exists between plasmin concentration and these caseinolytic - and fibrinolytic-rate units.3. Data comparing results obtained with the proposed assay techniques and previously-used casein and fibrinolytic techniques are presented.4. Formulae by which caseinolytic-rate and fibrinolytic-rate units can be roughly converted into Remmert-Cohen type plasmin units are offered.5. The theoretical and practical problems which have influenced development of assays for fibrinolytic components are discussed.6. The advantages of the plasmin “rate unit” techniques vis a vis existing assays are delineated.7. The potential application of the techniques to measurements other than the plasmin content of fibrinolytic agents is discussed.

This research is a classroom action research conducted at SD Negeri 001 Empat Balai, this research is basedon: (a) lack of ability of teacher in making learning device; (b) learning devices are only used as a complementand not for teaching needs; and (c) some teachers again if they are asked the learning device answer has no orhas not made it. Based on this research, researchers conducted research by applying the method of assigningtasks to improve the ability of teachers in making learning tools. This study was conducted in two cycles, eachcycle is implemented based on four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results ofresearch indicate that the ability of teachers in making learning devices increases. This is seen in the first cycleof 59% with good enough category and in the second cycle increased to 76% with Excellent category. Based onthis data, it can be concluded that the application of assignment method can improve teacher ability in makingSD Negeri 001 Empat Balai learning tool.
