Lomandra marginata T.D.Macfarl. & Conran is described as a new species and illustrated by photographs and a distribution map. Recognised initially from vegetative plants during a biological survey at Lochada Station, it was realised subsequently that the species is widespread from Geraldton to Corrigin. However, it apparently flowers only occasionally under favourable conditions, so earlier collections were mostly vegetative. Lomandra marginata is placed in L. series Sparsiflorae on the basis of possessing a narrow floral bract that does not encircle the pedicel and a bracteole, when present, offset rather than opposite the bract. It has distinctive membranous leaf margins resembling those of the related genus Chamaexeros and the longest pedicels in the genus, mostly 10–16mm long, on which are borne white flowers resembling those of L. effusa (Lindl.) Ewart. Although L. effusa is the most similar species in flower and inflorescence and is also a member of L. series Sparsiflorae, it differs vegetatively by having distinctly two-toothed leaf tips.

Cyclocephala vulcanorum is described as a new species from the Refugio Los Volcanes in Santa Cruz de la Sierra Department in Bolivia. A description, a diagnosis separating the new species from similar species, illustrations, and a distribution map are provided.

Reknowned for its high biodiversity and endemism, over one third of the Bornean species of Phyllagathis were discovered in Sarawak over the past two years. In this study, we report an addition of a new species of Phyllagathis, namely P. stellata from southwestern Sarawak. In addition to the taxonomic account, color plates, line drawings, a distribution map, and comparisons with morphologically similar species are provided to aid in identification.

Myrcia amplifolia, a new species from the coastal forest of southern Bahia, eastern Brazil, is here described and compared with morphologically similar species. Additionally, a morphological plate, distribution map and conservation assessment of the species are presented. We assign the new species to Myrcia sect. Calyptranthes with a reasonable reliability due to the combination: presence of cataphylls, inflorescences sympodially branching at the base and calyptrate flowers. Myrcia amplifolia seems to be closely related to M. carioca, from which it can be distinguished through the leaf blades strongly coriaceous (vs. chartaceous in M. carioca), leaf venation very slightly raised and barely conspicuous abaxially (vs. venation strongly raised and conspicuous abaxially), inflorescences with a shorter main axis (75–110 mm long vs. 130–270 mm long), and shorter first lateral branch (3.3–19 mm long vs. 48–95 mm long), and the calyptra acuminate (vs. rounded or shortly apiculate). It is also similar to M. boanova, differing by the leaf blades significantly larger (31–60 × 10–20 cm vs. 7–13 × 4.1–5 cm in M. boanova) and strongly coriaceous (vs. chartaceous), and the calyptra acuminate (vs. rounded) and smaller (2.3–2.6 × ca. 1.8 mm vs. 3.5–3.7 × 3.5–4 mm).

A new annual species of Drosera section Arachnopus, Drosera margaritacea, from the western Kimberley region (Western Australia) is described and illustrated, including detailed comparisons with the morphologically most similar species, D. finlaysoniana. The latter name is lectotypified here. The global range of D. finlaysoniana is provided, including a doubtful first record for Thailand, while the species, in contrast with statements made in some published references, does not occur in India, Laos, Cambodia and the Philippines. Additionally, the first record from Indonesia of the frequently misidentified D. aquatica is reported.

Abstract— Gonolobus espejoi, a new species from Veracruz, Mexico, is described and illustrated. The new taxon shares characteristics with G. albiflorus and G. spiranthus such as the presence of a stipitate gynostegium, but differs from these species by having campanulate corolla, corolla lobes with two lateral purple calluses with the right margin ciliate, oblong-spatulate anther appendages, and a cotyliform style apex. A comparative table and a distribution map of the new taxon and the morphologically similar species is provided.

Abstract— A new species of Clusia (sect. Phloianthera) from the Amazon is described and illustrated. Species belonging to the sect. Phloianthera occur mainly in southeastern Brazil and Clusia nascimentojuniorii is the fourth species of the section found and registered in the Amazon region. We provide here a table with the major differences between Clusia nascimentojuniorii and similar species in sect. Phloianthera, as well as an identification key for species from the Amazon, and a distribution map for the new species.

A plant formerly misidentified as Amomum maximum in Guangxi, China, is described here as a new species, namely A. fangdingii. A detailed description, distribution map and illustrations are provided together with a taxonomic key distinguishing A. fangdingii from eight morphologically similar species characterised by cincinnate inflorescences occurring in Cambodia, China, Laos and Vietnam.

Schinus pampeana is a new species from Brazilian Pampa. The new species was tentatively included in Schinus sect. Terebinthifolia, and is morphologically most similar to Schinus lentiscifolia and S. weinmanniifolia. We present here a detailed morphological description, a geographical distribution map, IUCN conservation status assessment, ecological data, photographs, and a table of diagnostic characters of S. pampeana and the most similar species. Schinus pampeana increases the total number of Schinus to about 49 species, of which eleven are recorded in Brazil.

We describe and illustrate Paepalanthus capixaba, a new species of Paepalanthus ser. Paepalanthus. The species is endemic to Espírito Santo state and restricted to a very distinct and endangered area, which comprises a mosaic of quartzitic sandy patches within a granitic argillaceous site. The indument of leaves, spathes, and scapes is crucial to recognize the taxon as a unique entity. The species is compared to Paepalanthus klotzschianus, the morphologically most similar species. An official conservation status of critically endangered species was assessed by the Centro Nacional de Conservação da Flora committee. Comments on the occurrence area and the morphological variation of the species, as well as a distribution map, photos, and illustrations are provided.

Vicia mingyueshanensis, a new species from the Mingyue Mountain Region of western Jiangxi, China, is described and illustrated. It is a perennial climbing liana that always links to riparian woods. A morphological comparison indicated that the new species is closely similar to Vicia taipaica K. T. Fu and Vicia dichroantha Diels; however, it differs from the other two species by several salient characters, such as plant indumentum, stipule shape, corolla colour, bractlet shape and calyx shape. Photographs, a preliminary conservation assessment, table of morphological characters and distribution map comparing this new species to two morphologically-similar species are also provided.
