HOSTS: Abies balsamea and other species of Pinaceae. DISEASE: On Pinaceae; canker of balsam fir GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION: North America: Canada (Quebec Province, British Columbia), USA (Oregon); Europe (Norway). TRANSMISSION: Ouellette found spread in a north westerly direction from the original island site. No evidence has been given for insect spread but this cannot be ruled out for this group of organisms.
