Dalam menunjang proses bisnis organisasi, mereka menggunakan berapa sistem informasi. Kompleksitas sistem tersebut serta perbedaan sumber basis data kedua sistem, perlu upaya terobosan dengan penerapan teknologi pengelolaan data dan informasi yang lebih mutakhir yaitu dengan data warehouse. Data warehouse adalah sumber dari semua data setiap bagian/divisi organisasi. Sesuai kebutuhan organisasi, lebih spesifik lagi pada divisi Revenue Assurance. Diidentifikasi akan dijadikan menjadi dua subjek data mart, yaitu data mart pelanggan dan data mart keuangan.

This paper through studying the theory of data warehouse and data mining, applies these technologies to deal with the large number data in the Ticket Selling and Reserving System of Chinese Railway (TRS), uses the effective data mining to the passenger flow analysis, builds up the logical forecasting and analysis model. This paper firstly discusses the current situation and problems faced by forecasting of passenger flow, then applies the data warehouse technology to design the data mart of this subject. Next, samples and analyses this data which collecting in data mart adopting neural network method, builds data analysis model carrying out research and the experiment, finally puts forward a feasible forecast model for the passenger flow forecasting.

The role of information technology in each company is very influential in providing complete and accurate information. With a data warehouse or data mart the company can utilize important asset data to present the information needed.. Shipping firms nowadays are in operation with extremely competitive and challenging environment. Vast volume of knowledge is generated from various operational systems and these are used for determination of several business issues that needed imperative handling. The results obtained from this study are data marts that simplify and accelerate the provision of data and information to support decision making, so as to provide a basis for developing DSS and EIS applications. Conclusions obtained by the data warehouse or data mart can provide complete, accurate and integrated information as a basis for consideration for the executive in making decisions so that decisions taken are based on real facts owned by the company.

Technology today causing the data needs of an agency or company to process the data or analyze data quickly, dense and higher. Companies or institutions want the data analysis process can save time as much as possible. The data warehouse is a data analysis technology that is useful to resolve the issue. The data warehouse is a repository of data that is useful to accommodate all the history data held by agencies or companies. Data marts are small part of the data warehouse. Data mart is focused on a single subject. This study uses a generalization method to perform the process of establishing a data mart. Generalization is a useful method to reduce or narrow the differences in the data based Subclass. Subclass were integrated into a Superclass useful to collect some data from the Subclass. Subclass is the data that is more descriptive. Superclass is more general in nature of data. The result obtained is a collection of some Subclass predetermined or selected later formed a Superclass useful to accommodate the resources of the Subclass.

Testing is an essential part of the design life-cycle of a software product. Although most phases of data warehouse design have received considerable attention in the literature, not much research has been conducted concerning data warehouse testing. In this paper, the authors introduce a number of data mart-specific testing activities, classify them in terms of what is tested and how it is tested, and show how they can be framed within a reference design method to devise a comprehensive and scalable approach. Finally, the authors discuss some practical evidences emerging from a real case study.

A demanda por informação é cada vez mais frequente em pequenas, médias e grandes empresas, que precisam tomar decisões de forma rápida para manterem-se competitivas. Visando atender não somente a demanda de mercado, mas suprir a carência de muitas organizações no que diz respeito à transformação de dados em informação, surgiram as soluções de Business Intelligence (BI) baseadas em dados, tais como Data Warehouse (DW) e Data Mart (DM). O desenvolvimento destas soluções de BI, entretanto, está ainda muito longe da realidade da maioria das empresas brasileiras, em especial daquelas de médio e pequeno porte que, em geral, utilizam software de prateleira ou Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS). Os processos de construção de DW/DM são direcionados para software desenvolvidos sob encomenda, que contam com a participação efetiva dos analistas dos sistemas transacionais, projetistas e administradores de Banco de Dados, não contemplando as especificidades do processo de desenvolvimento de um DW/DM para Pequenas e Médias Empresas (PME) que fazem uso de software COTS. Neste sentido, este artigo relata as oportunidades e desafios enfrentados em um estudo de caso onde foi realizada a construção de Data Warehouse, para uma empresa varejista de médio porte que utiliza COTS na operacionalização dos seus processos de negócio.

Universitas Ma Chung merupakan Universitas Swasta di Malang, Jawa Timur yang memiliki banyak data, salah satunya adalah data point keaktifan mahasiswa. Universitas Ma Chung masih belum memiliki database khusus yang berfungsi sebagai data warehouse, perusahaan hanya memiliki database operasional sehingga untuk melakukan analisis data kurang optimal dan memerlukan banyak waktu.Tujuan dari dilaksanakannya penelitian ini adalah merancang dan membangun data mart yang dapat digunakan untuk menampilkan laporan grafik point keaktifan mahasiswa pada Universitas Ma Chung menggunakan SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), sehingga universitas dapat melakukan analisis data secara optimal dan memiliki laporan informasi eksekutif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisa dan perancangan, dimana pada tahap analisa melakukan pengumpulan data dan membuat instrumen perancangan. Sedangkan tahap perancangan menggunakan Kimball lifecycle dan 9-step data warehouse design methodology.Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah skema snowflake pada data mart, ETL harian otomatis, dimana data dikonversi dari SQL Server (database transaksional) ke dalam SQL Server (database tujuan), OLTP, OLAP (cube) dan reporting berbasis web. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah rancangan data mart point keaktifan mahasiswa yang dapat digunakan untuk menyimpan data historis point keaktifan mahasiswa pada Universitas Ma Chung sehingga dapat digunakan untuk analisis bisnis lebih lanjut.
