Within the framework of the configuration–interaction shell model, the present work applies three effective interactions to investigate the effects of the cross-shell excitation on F and Ne isotopes around N = 20, which are significantly proton–neutron asymmetric, and have different properties compared with the proton–neutron symmetric nuclei. It is shown that cross-shell excitation is necessary in order to reproduce separation energies, neutron drip lines, and low-energy levels of these isotopes. Furthermore, the cross-shell excitation of (0–5)ħω is suggested to be important in the description of 29F and 30Ne. However, the three interactions are insufficient in describing the bound structure of 29,31Ne, and provide inconsistent shell structures and evolutions in the target nuclei. Their cross-shell interactions are suggested to be improved.

The negative-parity states of 24Mg nucleus are investigated within the shell model. We are based on the calculations of energy levels, total squared form factors, and transition probability using the p-sd-pf (PSDPF) Hamiltonian in a large model space (0 + 1) hW. The comparison between the experimental and theoretical states showed a good agreement within a truncated model space. The PSDPF-based calculations successfully reproduced the data on the total squared form factors and transition probabilities of the negative-parity states in 24Mg nucleus. These quantities depend on the one-body density matrix elements that are obtained from the PSDPF Hamiltonian. The wave functions of radial one-particle matrix elements calculated with the harmonic-oscillator potential are suitable to predict experimental data by changing the center-of-mass corrections.

Elements of the shell-model reaction matrix have been calculated for the p-f shell with an exact treatment of the Pauli operator. These elements have been used in straightforward calculations of the energy levels of 42Ca and 42Sc and the binding energy of 40Ca.

Recent fits to low-energy 7Li(p, "Yo)8Be angular distribution and analysing power data suggested a large p-wave strength. It is shown that acceptable fits to the data can be obtained by attributing the p-wave Ml contributions to the tails of the 17 64 and 18 15 MeV 1+ levels of 8Be, with p-wave strengths much less than those obtained previously, but only if some of the spectroscopic amplitudes have signs opposite to those suggested by shell model calculations and/or a fit to higher-energy data.

Ultra-wideband (UWB) uses very low energy levels to transfer data at very high data rate and bandwidth. An optimal and correct choice of transmission pulse shape is an important criterion in this technology. In this paper, we will present an approach for the generation of an optimal pulse shape with the optimal generation of pulse shape values that can provide effective results when transmitted using multiple access modulation technique over a multipath channel and received by a RAKE type receiver. The bit error analysis of constructed model is also given using Ideal Rake, selective RAKE, and partial RAKE receiver configurations.
