Despite the promise of cross-border e-commerce, attracting consumers is still a worldwide challenge. Many cross-border e-commerce platforms have responded to the challenges by embracing innovative tools like live streaming. However, there has been limited understandings of the unique nature of live streaming and its empirical influence. Taking an affordance view of live streaming, this study defines affordance of live streaming as the capacities provided by live streaming and examines how affordance of live streaming affect consumer behavior in the cross-border e-commerce context based on information transparency perspective. Results show that although live streaming does not directly affect consumers’ cross-border purchase intention, it can increase consumers’ purchase intention through increasing perceived information transparency. In addition, affordance of live streaming can further moderate the relationship between different types of information transparency and consumers’ cross-border purchase intention. The findings provide a much-needed contribution to academia and business.

Hypergraphs have shown great power in representing high-order relations among entities, and lots of hypergraph-based deep learning methods have been proposed to learn informative data representations for the node classification problem. However, most of these deep learning approaches do not take full consideration of either the hyperedge information or the original relationships among nodes and hyperedges. In this article, we present a simple yet effective semi-supervised node classification method named Hypergraph Convolution on Nodes-Hyperedges network, which performs filtering on both nodes and hyperedges as well as recovers the original hypergraph with the least information loss. Instead of only reducing the cross-entropy loss over the labeled samples as most previous approaches do, we additionally consider the hypergraph reconstruction loss as prior information to improve prediction accuracy. As a result, by taking both the cross-entropy loss on the labeled samples and the hypergraph reconstruction loss into consideration, we are able to achieve discriminative latent data representations for training a classifier. We perform extensive experiments on the semi-supervised node classification problem and compare the proposed method with state-of-the-art algorithms. The promising results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Axial compression tests were carried out on 72 FRP (fiber reinforced polymer)–stirrup composite−confined concrete columns. Stirrups ensure the residual bearing capacity and ductility after the FRP fractures. To reduce the effect of stress concentration at the corners of the confined square−section concrete columns and improve the restraint effect, an FRP–stirrup composite−confined concrete structure with rounded corners is proposed. Different corner radii of the stirrup and outer FRP were designed, and the corner radius of the stirrup was adjusted accurately to meet the designed corner radius of the outer FRP. The cross−section of the specimens gradually changed from square to circular as the corner radius increased. The influence of the cross−sectional shape and corner radius on the compressive behaviour of FRP–stirrup composite−confined concrete was analysed. An increase in the corner radius can cause the strain distribution of the FRP to be more uniform and strengthen the restraint effect. The larger the corner radius of the specimen, the better the improvement of mechanical properties. The strength of the circular section specimen was greatly improved. In addition, the test parameters also included the FRP layers, FRP types and stirrup spacing. With the same corner radius, increasing the number of FRP layers or densifying the stirrup spacing effectively improved the mechanical properties of the specimens. Finally, a database of FRP–stirrup composite−confined concrete column test results with different corner radii was established. The general calculation models were proposed, respectively, for the peak points, ultimate points and stress–strain models that are applicable to FRP−, stirrup− and FRP–stirrup−confined concrete columns with different cross−sectional shapes under axial compression.

In high-power microwave applications, the electromagnetic-thermal effect of frequency selective surface (FSS) cannot be ignored. In this paper, the electromagnetic-thermal coupling effects of cross-slot FSS were studied. We used an equivalent circuit method and CST software to analyze the electromagnetic characteristics of cross-slot FSS. Then, we used multi-field simulation software COMSOL Multiphysics to study the thermal effect of the FSSs. To verify the simulation results, we used a horn antenna with a power of 20 W to radiate the FSSs and obtain the stable temperature distribution of the FSSs. By using simulations and experiments, it is found that the maximum temperature of the cross-slot FSS appears in the middle of the cross slot. It is also found that the FSS with a narrow slot has severer thermal effect than that with a wide slot. In addition, the effects of different incident angles on the temperature variation of FSS under TE and TM polarization were also studied. It is found that in TE polarization, with the increase in incident angle, the maximum stable temperature of FSS increases gradually. In TM polarization, with the increase in incident angle, the maximum stable temperature of FSS decreases gradually.

The study of individual differences is often conducted using cross-sectional experiments. The cross-sectional nature of such data means that results obtained from these experiments are a mix of both between- and within-person associations. While concerns about this within-between confounding effect have been surfaced, they are often not addressed when reporting results from individual differences studies. This obfuscation threatens the interpretability and validity of cross-sectional individual differences research. We speculate that a lack of a clear and accessible description of the confounding effect may have contributed to the limited attention to this issue. In this paper, we develop a tractable description of the confounding effect and how it manifests. In doing so, we suggest a need for greater transparency in the reporting of the goals and results of cross-sectional studies and how they contribute to knowledge of individual differences.

This article presents a novel cross-rib micro-channel (MC-CR) heat sink to make fluid self-rotate. For a thermal test chip (TTC) with 100 w/cm2, the cross-ribs micro-channel were compared with the rectangular (MC-R) and horizontal rib micro-channel (MC-HR) heat sinks. The results show that, with the cross-rib micro-channel, the junction temperature of the thermal test chip was 336.49 K, and the pressure drop was 22 kPa. Compared with the rectangular and horizontal ribs heat sink, the cross-rib micro-channel had improvements of 28.6% and 14.3% in cooling capability, but the pressure drop increased by 10.7-fold and 5.5-fold, respectively. Then, the effects of the aspect ratio (λ) of micro-channel in different flow rates were studied. It was found that the aspect ratio and cooling performance were non-linear. To reduce the pressure drop, the inclination (α) and spacing (S) of the cross-ribs were optimized. When α = 30°, S = 0.1 mm, and λ = 4, the pressure drop was reduced from 22 kPa to 4.5 kPa. In addition, the heat dissipation performance of the rectangular, staggered fin (MC-SF), staggered rib (MC-SR) and cross-rib micro-channels were analyzed in the condition of the same pressure drop, MC-CR still has superior heat dissipation performance.
