Abstract With people’s attention to environmental protection, clean energy has become an important research and development direction. Among them, photovoltaic power generation has many advantages, such as simple process, no fuel consumption, no noise, no pollution and so on. The power grid capacity is becoming larger and larger, and has a great impact on the environment. Therefore, the grid connection of photovoltaic power generation will cause major problems for the planning, operation and dispatching of power grid. Virtual synchronous generator (hereinafter referred to as VSG) technology can simulate the inertia, primary frequency regulation and voltage regulation characteristics of synchronous generator, which has become an important way to improve the dynamic frequency response ability of the system. Therefore, VSG technology has become an important research technology of photovoltaic grid connected system, among which FM method will also become an important research direction. Firstly, this paper analyzes the VSG algorithm and its basic characteristics. Finally, this paper analyzes the control scheme of overall primary frequency regulation of photovoltaic power station (hereinafter referred to as PPS).

The large-scale grid connection of photovoltaic power generation results in the power system frequency fluctuation and frequency regulation capacity decline, which endangers the dynamic security of power grid frequency. In order to reduce the frequency deviation of power grid and tap the potential of photovoltaic power generation participating in frequency regulation, a control method of photovoltaic power participating in frequency regulation of power grid is proposed in this paper. The maximum allowable power of photovoltaic power is predicted through system identification, and the load shedding rate is determined based on this, and the output power is corrected according to the system frequency deviation to participate in frequency regulation of power grid. The model based on MATLAB Simulation results shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Frequency is an important index of power quality, primary frequency regulation is of great significance for maintaining the grid frequency. In recent years, with the expansion of the power grid capacity and the continuous increase of the generator capacity, the large capacity units play a role is becoming more and more important in the primary frequency regulation of power grid. This paper takes ultra supercritical coal-fired units (1000MW) of a power plant of Hubei for example, primary frequency regulation control method, requency offset load curve and so on were studied through relevant test.
