AbstractWith the continuous increase in social pressure and people’s higher urgency for physical health, the concept of healthy physical fitness has become more and more important and prominent. However, the research and standards for the validity of the health fitness monitoring test indicators have not been determined. In order to compare the validity of the health fitness test indicators, we adopt the cardiopulmonary track and field sensor technology to monitor the health fitness cardiopulmonary track and field sensor. A comparative study on the validity of test indicators, mainly to test the rationality of the cardiopulmonary endurance evaluation indicators of healthy physical fitness, and to carry out a new design of the concept of healthy physical fitness in track and field teaching, so that it is more inclined to improve the healthy physical fitness of athletes fitness. Research data shows that the average absolute value of the athlete’s maximum oxygen consumption is 2.51 L/min, the highest value is 3.96 L/min, and the lowest is 2.03 L/min. The average value of the absolute maximum oxygen consumption of girls is 1.79 L/min, the highest value is 2.89 L/min, and the minimum is 1.51 L/min. From these data, we can know that compared with traditional cardiopulmonary monitoring methods, the sensor monitoring studied in this paper has higher accuracy and wider application range. The peak cardiopulmonary power of athletes’ cardiopulmonary function detection using this method is closer to the actual value, while for the peak cardiopulmonary power detected by traditional methods, there is a big difference between the power and the actual value. For different athletes, the advantages of the algorithm in this paper are more obvious, indicating that the method in this paper has a higher detection accuracy for the cardiopulmonary function test of athletes during aerobic training.

AbstractWe aimed to estimate the occurrence of syphilis in pregnant women (SPW) and congenital syphilis (CS) in the municipalities of the state of São Paulo (SP) and evaluate their relationship with socioeconomic, demographic, and health care variables. We developed an ecological study based on secondary data of SPW and CS with spatiotemporal components from 645 municipalities in SP including data from 2007 to 2018. We modeled the data in a Bayesian context, considered spatial and temporal random effects, and used binomial negative probability distributions. We found a continuous increase in the relative temporal risk of SPW, from 2007 to 2018, and CS, from 2007 to 2017, when their incidences increased by 8.6 and 6.6 times, respectively. This increase occurred en bloc in practically all municipalities of SP. The increase in SPW was associated with teenage pregnancy, municipalities with a large number of inhabitants, and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) incidence. The increase in CS was associated with municipalities with a large number of inhabitants, incomplete antenatal care, and AIDS incidence. Although actions to control these diseases are required in all municipalities of SP, the identification of high-risk areas points to priority regions for development.

Petroleum products account for the 32.3% of worldwide primary energy. There are more than 100 oil refineries in Europe that directly employ 119,000 people with a turnover of EUR 600 billion and around 1.2% to the total value added in manufacturing. Therefore, the petroleum refining sector is very important in the European economy, and its decarbonization is crucial in the energy transition. Refineries present a high degree of complexity and integration, and the continuous increase of their energy efficiency is a key topic for the sector. In this work an analysis of the energy efficiency in ten Italian refineries based on mandatory energy audits and public data is presented. The primary (0.0963 ± 0.0341 toe/t), thermal (3421.71 ± 1316.84 MJ/t), and electrical (68.20 ± 19.34 kWh/t) specific energy consumptions have been evaluated. Some insights about the impact of refined products mix (mainly driven by production of diesel fuel) and Nelson Complexity Index in energy consumption are presented. Lastly, an overview of energy performance improvement actions (EPIAs) information extracted from energy audits is presented. This work presents a first step for the benchmark of Italian refineries that should be subsequently improved.

The synergistic effect of dipping in 55 °C for 5 min of hot water (HW) and 1% chitosan coating during the storage of mango at 13 ± 0.5 °C and 85%–90% relative humidity for 28 days was investigated. The combined treatment significantly suppressed the fruit decay percentage compared with both the single treatment and the control. In addition, the specific activities of key plant defense-related enzymes, including peroxidase (POD) and catalase (CAT), markedly increased. The increase occurred in the pulp of the fruits treated with the combined treatment compared to those treated with HW or chitosan alone. While the control fruits showed the lowest values, the combination of pre-storage HW treatment and chitosan coating maintained higher values of flesh hue angle (h°), vitamin C content, membrane stability index (MSI) percentage, as well as lower weight loss compared with the untreated mango fruits. The combined treatment and chitosan treatment alone delayed fruit ripening by keeping fruit firmness, lessening the continuous increase of total soluble solids (TSS), and slowing the decrease in titratable acidity (TA). The results showed that the combined application of HW treatment and chitosan coating can be used as an effective strategy to suppress postharvest decay and improve the quality of mango fruits.

In Mali, a country in West Africa, cumulative confirmed COVID-19 cases and deaths among healthcare workers (HCWs) remain enigmatically low, despite a series of waves, circulation of SARS-CoV-2 variants, the country’s weak healthcare system, and a general lack of adherence to public health mitigation measures. The goal of the study was to determine whether exposure is important by assessing the seroprevalence of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies in HCWs. The study was conducted between November 2020 and June 2021. HCWs in the major hospitals where COVID-19 cases were being cared for in the capital city, Bamako, Mali, were recruited. During the study period, vaccinations were not yet available. The ELISA of the IgG against the spike protein was optimized and quantitatively measured. A total of 240 HCWs were enrolled in the study, of which seropositivity was observed in 147 cases (61.8%). A continuous increase in the seropositivity was observed, over time, during the study period, from 50% at the beginning to 70% at the end of the study. HCWs who provided direct care to COVID-19 patients and were potentially highly exposed did not have the highest seropositivity rate. Vulnerable HCWs with comorbidities such as obesity, diabetes, and asthma had even higher seropositivity rates at 77.8%, 75.0%, and 66.7%, respectively. Overall, HCWs had high SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence, likely reflecting a “herd” immunity level, which could be protective at some degrees. These data suggest that the low number of cases and deaths among HCWs in Mali is not due to a lack of occupational exposure to the virus but rather related to other factors that need to be investigated.

To explore the difference in the response of the radial growth of Pinus tabulaeformis and Picea crassifolia on different timescales to climate factors in the eastern part of Qilian Mountains, we used dendrochronology to select four different timescales (day, pentad (5 days), dekad (10 days), and month) for exploration. The primary conclusions were as follows: (1) According to an investigation of the dynamic correlations between radial growth and climate conditions, drought during the growing season has been the dominant limiting factor for radial growth across both species in recent decades; (2) climate data at the dekad scale are best for examining the correlations between radial growth and climate variables; and (3) based on basal area increment, P. tabuliformis in the study area showed a trend of first an increase and then a decrease, while P. crassifolia showed a trend of continuous increase (BAI). As the climate continues to warm in the future, forest ecosystems in arid and semi-arid areas will be more susceptible to severe drought, which will lead to a decline in tree growth, death, and community deterioration. As a result, it is critical to implement appropriate management approaches for various species based on the peculiarities of their climate change responses.

Abstract Expansive soils are found in many parts of the world, especially in arid areas and dry weather regions. Urbanization and development of new cities around the world resulted in construction in areas of challenging subsurface soil conditions. For example, in the Middle East, the Government of Egypt is building several new cities to accommodate the continuous increase in the country’s population. Most of these new cities are located in areas underlain by expansive soils. In this study, a series of laboratory tests were carried out to investigate the effect of introducing micro-metakaolin into the matrix of an expansive soil to improve the swelling potential as a new stabilizing material. Test results showed that micro-metakaolin can considerably decrease the free swell index of the soil by 37% and 54% at micro-metakaolin content of 15% and 25%, respectively. In addition, the shear strength of the soil was found to also increase as a result of the introduction of the micro-metakaolin material. Adding 25% micro-metakaolin content reduced the swelling pressure of the soil by about 33%. The results suggest that the proposed method is efficient in stabilizing and improving the properties of expansive soils found in arid areas. This is important to control excessive swelling and prevent possible damage to the supported structures.

Abstract With the development of Internet technology, with the continuous increase of data volume, it has become more and more difficult to maintain the traditional centralized data storage method. Data is easy to copy, difficult to share, high storage costs, and low data usage efficiency. Further trigger the demand for more efficient data storage technology. This article aims to study the application of blockchain technology in the data security storage and sharing system. On the basis of analyzing the problems of data sharing and cryptography, the functional modules of the data security storage and sharing system are designed. Encryption uses public key encryption algorithm to ensure encryption performance. The simulation experiment results show that the system is effective for file sharing, and the average generation time of the algorithm in this paper is within the controllable range.

The commercial market for higher education in Europe is expanding as governments cut spending on universities in the wake of the 2008 global economic crisis, and universities must be self-sufficient to survive. This commercialization is mainly reflected in the fact that universities begin to pay more attention to fund accumulation rather than improving academic value. With the continuous increase of tuition fees in colleges and universities, students are regarded as consumers and universities are essential commodities needed by consumers. Although commercialization of higher education has some beneficial aspects, such as more funds for schools to provide students with more advanced equipment and more comfortable learning environment, overall, the threat of commercialization to academic quality and social environment cannot be compensated for by those advantages. This paper aims to find out the two main reasons for the commercialization of higher education and the three threats to the social and academic environment brought by the marketing of higher education. Also, the paper also puts forward corresponding solutions for the three major risks; the two reasons analyzed in this paper are mainly the economic crisis and the development of globalization. The three threats are mainly aimed at the teaching quality of educational value and the financial pressure of students. At the same time, the paper gives three corresponding solutions to the threats. This paper argues that the commercialization of higher education severely hinders the improvement of educational value, reduces teaching quality, and brings heavy pressure to students' economy, which directly hinders the healthy development of higher education. If higher education institutions can adopt corresponding strategies to mitigate the threat of commercialization, the commercialization market of higher education may bring many opportunities for the development of higher education industry.
