The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ag3Yb(C5HN2O4)2(H2O)2]n, contains three AgIions, one YbIIIion, two imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands and two coordinating water molecules. The YbIIIatom is eight-coordinated, in a bicapped trigonal prismatic coordination geometry, by six O atoms from three imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands and two coordinating water molecules. The two-coordinated AgIions exhibit three types of coordination environments. One AgIatom is bonded to two N atoms from two different imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands. The other two AgIatoms are each coordinated by one O atom and one N atom from two different imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands. These metal coordination units are connected by bridging imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands, generating a two-dimensional heterometallic layer. These layers are stacked along theaaxisviaO—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions to generate a three-dimensional framework.

The CdII atom in the title complex, [Cd(C8H5O3)2(C12H8N2)(H2O)], is coordinated by three O atoms of two formylbenzoate ligands, two N atoms of a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and one water molecule, giving rise to a trigonal–prismatic coordination geometry. Adjacent complex molecules are linked into a two-dimensional layer structure via hydrogen-bonding interactions.

A red block-shaped crystal of the title compound, [Co(HCOO)2(C12H10N4)2]n, was obtained by the reaction of cobalt(II) nitrate hexahydrate, formic acid and 1,1′-(1,4-phenylene)bis(1H-imidazole) (bib) molecules. The asymmetric unit consists of one CoIIcation, one formate ligand and two halves of a bib ligand. The central CoIIcation, located on an inversion centre, is coordinated by two carboxylate O atoms and four N atoms from bib ligands, completing an octahedral coordination geometry. The CoIIcentres are bridged by bib ligands, giving a two-dimensional net. Topologically, taking the CoIIatoms as nodes and the bib ligands as linkers, the two-dimensional structure can be simplified as a typicalsql/Shubnikov tetragonal plane network. The structure features C—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions between formate and bib ligands, resulting in a three-dimensional supramolecular network.

In the title compound, [Er2(C4H4O4)3(H2O)2] n , the asymmetric unit consists of two ErIII cations, three succinate anions and two coordinated water molecules. Both ErIII ions are in a tricapped trigonal–prismatic coordination environment. The Er atoms are bridged into a three-dimensional framework by succinate anions, which exhibit anti and gauche conformations with different coordination modes. The crystal structure is stabilized by O—H...O hydrogen bonds [O...O = 2.715 (8)–2.936 (8) Å].

The title CdIIcompound, {[Cd2(C13H7NO4)2(H2O)4]·5H2O}n, was synthesized by the hydrothermal reaction of Cd(NO3)2·4H2O and 5-(pyridin-4-yl)isophthalic acid (H2L). The asymmetric unit contains two crystallographically independent CdIIcations, two deprotonatedL2−ligands, four coordinated water molecules and five isolated water molecules. One of the CdIIcations adopts a six-coordinate octahedral coordination geometry involving three O atoms from one bidentate chelating and one monodentate carboxylate group of two differentL2−ligands, one N atom of anotherL2−ligand and two coordinated water molecules. The second CdIIcation adopts a seven-coordinate pentagonal–bipyramidal coordination geometry involving four O atoms from two bidentate chelating carboxylate groups of two differentL2−ligands, one N atom of anotherL2−ligand and two coordinated water molecules. EachL2−ligand bridges three CdIIcations and, likewise, each CdIIcation connects to threeL2−ligands, giving rise to a two-dimensional graphite-like 63layer structure. These two-dimensional layers are further linked by O—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions to form a three-dimensional supramolecular architecture. The photoluminescence properties of the title compound were also investigated.

The title compound, 3C6H4N4O2S2·2C3H7NO·4H2O, comprises three 2,2′-disulfanylidene-5,5′-biimidazolidinylidene-4,4′-dione molecules, two dimethylformamide molecules and four water molecules arranged around a crystallographic inversion centre. The non-H atoms within the 5,5′-biimidazolidinylidene molecule are coplanar and these molecules aggregate through N—H...S hydrogen-bonding interactions with cyclic motifs [graph setR22(8)], giving two-dimensional ribbon structures which are close to being parallel. The two independent water molecules associate to form centrosymmetric cyclic hydrogen-bonded (H2O)4tetrameric units [graph setR44(8)]. The ribbon structures extend along theaaxis and are linked through the water tetramers and the dimethylformamide molecules by a combination of two- and three-centre hydrogen bonds, giving an overall three-dimensional structure.

In the title complex, [Co(C6H5N2O2)2(H2O)2], the Co2+ cation lies on an inversion centre and the coordination geometry is distorted octahedral, with two N atoms and two O atoms from the 5-methylpyrazine-2-carboxylate ligands in the equatorial plane. The two remaining coordination sites are occupied by two water molecules. The crystal structure is stabilized by a network of O—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions, forming a two-dimensional supramolecular structure.

In the title compound, [CdCl2(C13H12N4S)]·CH3OH, the coordination geometry of the CdIIion is slightly distorted square-pyramidal, as indicated by the τ index of 0.36 (8). The S atom, two N atoms from the pyridyl-azomethine moiety and one of the Cl atoms comprise the basal plane, while the other Cl atom occupies the apical position. The hydrazinecarbothioamide moiety adopts anEconformation with respect to the azomethine bond. The solvate molecule in the crystal lattice plays a major role in interconnecting adjacent molecules by means of O—H...Cl and N—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions. A supramolecular three-dimensional architecture is sustained in terms of further N—H...Cl and C—H...Cl hydrogen-bonding interactions.

The asymmetric unit of the title thiazole derivative containing a sulfonylhydrazinic moiety, C9H8ClN3O3S2·H2O, consists of two independent molecules and two water molecules. The central parts of the molecules are twisted as both the molecules are bent at both the S and N atoms. In the crystal, N—H...N, N—H...O, C—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions connect the molecules, forming layers parallel to the ab plane. Two-dimensional fingerprint plots associated with the Hirshfeld surface show that the largest contributions to the crystal packing come from O...H/H...O (32.9%) and H...H (22.6%) interactions.

In the title coordination polymer, {[Ag4Er2(C6H4NO2)5(C2O4)2(NO3)(H2O)]·4H2O}n, each ErIIIatom is coordinated in a bicapped trigonal–prismatic coordination geometry by three O atoms from two isonicotinate (IN) ligands, four O atoms from two oxalate ligands and one O atom from either a nitrate ion or a water molecule, both of which are half-occupied over the same site. One AgIatom has a Y-shaped geometry defined by one N atom from one IN ligand, one O atom from another IN ligand and one O atom from an oxalate ligand. The other AgIatom is coordinated by two IN ligands and one O atom from an oxalate ligand. One of the IN ligands is disordered over an inversion center and forms a bridge between two centrosymmetric AgIions. Due to the disorder, this IN ligand coordinates to the Ag atom through either the pyridyl N or the carboxylate O atoms. The IN and oxalate ligands link the Er and Ag atoms into a three-dimensional coordination framework. O—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen bonds are observed in the crystal structure.

The asymmetric unit of the title salt, 2C12H28N+·SO4 2−·3H2O, contains two n-dodecylammonium cations, one sulfate anion and three water molecules. In the crystal, N—H...O hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions into layers parallel to (100). These layers are further connected through O—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions involving the sulfate ions and the isolated water molecules. The three-dimensional structure can also be considered as the superposition of thin inorganic layers of SO4 2− anions and thick layers of alkylammonium cations perpendicular to the c axis.
