A red block-shaped crystal of the title compound, [Co(HCOO)2(C12H10N4)2]n, was obtained by the reaction of cobalt(II) nitrate hexahydrate, formic acid and 1,1′-(1,4-phenylene)bis(1H-imidazole) (bib) molecules. The asymmetric unit consists of one CoIIcation, one formate ligand and two halves of a bib ligand. The central CoIIcation, located on an inversion centre, is coordinated by two carboxylate O atoms and four N atoms from bib ligands, completing an octahedral coordination geometry. The CoIIcentres are bridged by bib ligands, giving a two-dimensional net. Topologically, taking the CoIIatoms as nodes and the bib ligands as linkers, the two-dimensional structure can be simplified as a typicalsql/Shubnikov tetragonal plane network. The structure features C—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions between formate and bib ligands, resulting in a three-dimensional supramolecular network.

The title compound, [Cu(C8H4O5)(C12H10N4)]n, was obtained by the reaction of copper(II) nitrate hydrate, with the OH-BDC organic linker and bib molecules [OH-BDC = 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid and bib = 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-yl)benzene]. The asymmetric unit comprises one CuIIcation, one OH-BDC−2dianion and a bib ligand. The CuIIion is coordinated by three carboxylate O atoms and two bib-N atoms, all from bridging ligands, to form a slightly distorted trigonal–bipyramidal geometry. The CuIIions are bridged by OH-BDC−2ligands, forming a chain along the [100] direction; the chains are connected by bib molecules to form a two-dimensional net. In topological terms, considering the CuIIatoms as nodes and the OH-BDC−2ligands as linkers, the two-dimensional structure can be simplified as a typical 2-nodal 3,5 L2 plane network. The crystal structure features O—H...O hydrogen bonds between OH-BDC−2anions, resulting in a three-dimensional supramolecular network.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ag3Yb(C5HN2O4)2(H2O)2]n, contains three AgIions, one YbIIIion, two imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands and two coordinating water molecules. The YbIIIatom is eight-coordinated, in a bicapped trigonal prismatic coordination geometry, by six O atoms from three imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands and two coordinating water molecules. The two-coordinated AgIions exhibit three types of coordination environments. One AgIatom is bonded to two N atoms from two different imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands. The other two AgIatoms are each coordinated by one O atom and one N atom from two different imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands. These metal coordination units are connected by bridging imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands, generating a two-dimensional heterometallic layer. These layers are stacked along theaaxisviaO—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions to generate a three-dimensional framework.

In the title mixed-ligand silver(I) coordination polymeric complex with the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug diclofenac (C14H11Cl2NO2) (diclH) and pyrimidine (pym), namely poly[{μ2-2-[2-(2,6-dichloroanilino)phenyl]acetato-κ2O:O′}(μ2-pyrimidine-κ2N1:N3)silver(I)], [Ag(C14H10Cl2NO2)(C4H4N2)]nor [Ag(μ-dicl)(μ-pym)]n, the very distorted tetrahedral AgN2O2coordination centres comprise two N-atom donors from bridging pym ligands [Ag—N = 2.381 (3) and 2.412 (3) Å] and two carboxylate O-atom donors from dicl ligands [Ag—O = 2.279 (2) and 2.280 (2) Å], which bridge Ag atoms, giving a centrosymmetric dinuclear units with a short Ag...Ag separation [2.8931 (5) Å]. Within the units are short intraligand C—Cl...π(pym) interactions [3.6409 (15) Å]. The units are linked through the bridging N atoms of the pym ligand into a two-dimensional sheet–polymer structure lying parallel to (100) and stabilized by inter-ring π–π interactions between the pym ligands [Cg...Cg= 3.4199 (17) Å]. Additional inter-unit C—H...O and C—H...Cghydrogen-bonding interactions between the sheets give an overall three-dimensional structure.

The title tetranuclear stannoxane, [Sn4(C6H5)8(C6H4NO3)4O2]·1.5CHCl3·solvent, crystallized with two independent complex molecules, A and B, in the asymmetric unit together with 1.5 molecules of chloroform. There is also a region of disordered electron density, which was corrected for using the SQUEEZE routine [Spek (2015). Acta Cryst. C71, 9–18]. The oxo-tin core of each complex is in a planar `ladder' arrangement and each Sn atom is fivefold SnO3C2 coordinated, with one tin centre having an almost perfect square-pyramidal coordination geometry, while the other three Sn centres have distorted shapes. In the crystal, the complex molecules are arranged in layers, composed of A or B complexes, lying parallel to the bc plane. The complex molecules are linked by a number of C—H...O hydrogen bonds within the layers and between the layers, forming a supramolecular three-dimensional structure.

The title compound, {[Co(H2O)6][Co(SO4)(C10H8N2)(H2O)3][Co(SO4)2(C10H8N2)(H2O)2]}n, contains three crystallographically unique CoIIcentres, all of which are in six-coordinated environments. One CoIIcentre is coordinated by two bridging 4,4′-bipyridine (4,4′-bipy) ligands, one sulfate ion and three aqua ligands. The second CoIIcentre is surrounded by two N atoms of two 4,4′-bipy ligands and four O atoms,i.e.two O atoms from two monodentate sulfate ions and two from water molecules. The third CoIIcentre forms part of a hexaaquacobalt(II) ion. In the crystal structure, there are two different one-dimensional chains, one being anionic and the other neutral, and adjacent chains are arranged in a cross-like fashion around the mid-point of the 4,4′-bipy ligands. The structure features O—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions between sulfate anions and water molecules, resulting in a three-dimensional supramolecular network.

The title coordination polymer, [Cd3Co2(CN)12(C2H8N2)4]n, has an infinite two-dimensional network structure. The asymmetric unit is composed of two crystallographically independent CdIIatoms, one of which is located on a twofold rotation axis. There are two independent ethylenediamine (en) ligands, one of which bis-chelates to the Cd atom that sits in a general position, while the other bridges this Cd atom to that sitting on the twofold axis. The Cd atom located on the twofold rotation axis is linked to four equivalent CoIIIatomsviacyanide bridges, while the Cd atom that sits in a general position is connected to three equivalent CoIIIatomsviacyanide bridges. In this way, a series of trinuclear, tetranuclear and pentanuclear macrocycles are linked to form a two-dimensional network structure lying parallel to thebcplane. In the crystal structure, these two-dimensional networks are linkedviaN—H...N hydrogen bonds involving an en NH2H atom and a cyanide N atom, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional structure. This coordination polymer is only the second example involving a cyanometallate where the en ligand is present in both chelating and bridging coordination modes.

In recent years, N-heterocyclic carboxylate ligands have attracted much interest in the preparation of new coordination polymers since they contain N-atom donors, as well as O-atom donors, and have a rich variety of coordination modes which can lead to polymers with intriguing structures and interesting properties. A new two-dimensional coordination polymer, namely poly[[μ3-2,2′-(1,2-phenylene)bis(4-carboxy-1H-imidazole-5-carboxylato)-κ6 O 4,N 3,N 3′,O 4′:O 5:O 5′]manganese(II)], [Mn(C16H8N4O8)] n or [Mn(H4Phbidc)] n , has been synthesized by the reaction of Mn(OAc)2·4H2O (OAc is acetate) with 2,2′-(1,2-phenylene)bis(1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid) (H6Phbidc) under solvothermal conditions. In the polymer, each MnII ion is six-coordinated by two N atoms from one H4Phbidc2− ligand and by four O atoms from three H4Phbidc2− ligands, forming a significantly distorted octahedral MnN2O4 coordination geometry. The MnII ions are linked by hexadentate H4Phbidc2− ligands, leading to a two-dimensional structure parallel to the ac plane. In the crystal, adjacent layers are further connected by N—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional structure in the solid state.
