The ZnIIatom in the title polymeric compound, {[Zn(C8H6NO4)2(H2O)2]·2H2O}n, lies on a center of inversion and is coordinated by two amine N atoms and two carboxylate O atoms from two 3-amino-5-carboxybenzoate anions along with two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. The bridging nature of the anion generates a layer motif parallel to (100). Hydrogen bonds of the N—H...O and O—H...O types exist in the structure. One H atom of the coordinated water molecule and one H atom of the solvent water molecule are each disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio.

In the title compound, [Mn(C10H7N6)2(H2O)4]·2H2O, the complex unit comprises an Mn2+ion, coordinated by two imidazole N atoms fromcis-related monodentate 5-[4-(imidazol-1-yl)phenyl]tetrazolide ligands and four water molecules, together with two water molecules of solvation. The Mn2+ion lies on a twofold rotation axis and has a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. The molecules are connected by O—H...N and O—H...O hydrogen bonds involving both coordinated and solvent water molecules, generating a three-dimensional structure. Two C atoms of the imidazole ring of the ligand are each disordered over two sites with occupancy factors of 0.75 and 0.25.

The structure of the title compound, [Co2(C7H7N2O2)4(H2O)2]·2H2O, consists of a centrosymmetric binuclear [Co2(4-Apha)4(H2O)2] complex molecule (4-AphaH = 4-aminophenylhydroxamic acid), and two solvent water molecules. Each CoII cation is six coordinate, binding five oxygen atoms from three 4-Apha− ligands and a water molecule in a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. Two of the 4-Apha− ligands bridge two neighbouring CoII ions to form the binuclear complex. A three-dimensional network structure is generated by O—H...O, N—H...O, and N—H...N hydrogen bonds.

In the title compound, [Cd(C6H7N2O5)2], the Cd atom lies on an inversion center and has a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. The equatorial plane contains two bidentate 5-carboxy-2-methyl-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylate monoanionic ligands. Two coordinated water molecules occupy the axial sites. Intermolecular N—H...O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into chains, which are further connected by intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds, resulting in a three-dimensional supramolecular framework.

The title compound, [Ni2(C9H6O4)2(C12H8N2)2(H2O)2], is isostructural with the ZnIIanalogue. Each NiIIatom is coordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry by three O atoms from two homophthalate anions, one aqua O atom and two 1,10-phenanthroline N atoms. The two NiIIatoms are linked by two bridging homophthalate dianions into a centrosymmetric dinuclear unit. The dinuclear units are linked into one-dimensional ladder-like chains along [100] by O—H...O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water molecules and one of the O atoms of the carboxylatomethyl group.

The title compound, [Cr(CN)2(C12H8N2)2][Cr(N3)2(C18H12N4O2)]·H2O, contains [CrIII(CN)2(phen)2]+ cations (phen is 1,10-phenanthroline) and [CrIII(N3)2(bpb)]− anions [bpb is 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)benzene or N,N′-(o-phenylene)bis(pyridine-2-carboxamide)]. In the cations, the CrIII atom is coordinated by two phen ligands and two cyanide ligands in a distorted octahedral geometry. In the anions, the CrIII atom is coordinated by the tetradentate bpb ligand and two azide ions, forming a distorted octahedral geometry. There is one solvent water molecule per cation–anion pair, which forms hydrogen bonds to one carbonyl group of the bpb ligand and to the terminal N atom of one cyanide ligand.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(C6H6N4)2(H2O)2](C8H4O4), contains one-half each of the centrosymmetric cation and anion. The MnII atom is coordinated by four N atoms [Mn—N = 2.2168 (14) and 2.2407 (14) Å] from two 2,2′-biimidazole ligands and two water molecules [Mn—O = 2.2521 (14) Å] in a distorted octahedral geometry. Intermolecular N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds consolidate the crystal packing, which also exhibits π–π interactions between five-membered rings, with a centroid–centroid distance of 3.409 (2) Å.

In the title polymeric complex, {[Fe(C12H10N2)2(H2O)4](CH3C6H4SO3)2·2CH3OH}n, the FeIIcation, located on an inversion centre, is coordinated by four water molecules in the equatorial positions and two 1,2-bis(pyridin-4-yl)ethene molecules in the axial positions. This results in a distorted octahedral geometry for the [N2O4] coordination polyhedron. The 1,2-bis(pyridin-4-yl)ethene molecules bridge the FeIIcations, forming polymeric chains running along thea-axis direction. Stabilization of the crystal structure is provided by O—H...O hydrogen bonds; these are formed by coordinated water molecules as donors towards the O atoms of the methanol molecules and tosylate anions as acceptors of protons, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional supramolecular network. Weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds are also observed in the crystal.

The complex cations, nitrate anions and lattice water molecules are connected by O—H...O and N—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supramolecular structure.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Mn3{W(CN)8}2(C16H16N2)3(C3H7NO)3(CH3OH)3]·2H2O}n, consists of three [Mn(N,N-dimethylformamide)(methanol)(3,4,7,8-tetramethyl-1,10-phenanthroline)]2+cations, two [W(CN)8]3−anions and two water molecules. Each water molecule is disordered over three sets of sites, with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.310 (9):0.275 (9):0.415 (9) for one molecule and 0.335 (9):0.288 (9):0.377 (9) for the other molecule. The MnIIatoms exhibit a distorted octahedral geometry, while the WVatoms adopt a distorted square-antiprismatic geometry. The MnIIand WVatoms are linked alternatively through cyanide groups, forming a tetranuclear 12-atom rhombic metallacycle. Adjacent metallacycles are further connected by μ2-bridging cyanide anions, generating a 3,2-chain structure running parallel to [101]. Interchain π–π interactions are observed [centroid–centroid distances = 3.763 (3) and 3.620 (2) Å].

There are three independent CdII ions in the title complex, {[Cd3(C10H3O8)2(H2O)4]·4H2O} n , one of which is coordinated by four O atoms from three 5-carboxybenzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylate ligands and by two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. The second CdII ion is coordinated by five O atoms from four 5-carboxybenzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylate ligands and by one water molecule also in a distorted octahedral geometry while the third CdII ion is coordinated by five O atoms from three 5-carboxybenzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylate ligands and by one water molecule in a highly distorted octahedral geometry. The 5-carboxybenzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylate ligands bridge the CdII ions, resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional structure. Intra- and intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds are present throughout the three-dimensional structure.
