This paper uses the L indexes to analyze the impact of large-scale wind power penetration on the static voltage stability of the power system. First it presents some common indexes in analyzing voltage stability. Then, it introduces the principle of the L index. After that, Simulation based on the L Index of a typical power system interconnected with large-scaled wind power shows the grid alternatives have a considerable impact on the voltage stability. Finally it gives the conclusions.

In this paper, the variable speed wind turbine model based on doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) and a practical power grid model to be studied are implemented in DIgSILENT / PowerFactory. The transient voltage stability and the static voltage stability of the power grid with high wind power penetration will be studied.
