Abstract A constant frequency hysteresis current control technique for a three-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) has been developed for AC drives, power quality and renewable energy applications. This paper presents a digital implementation of a constant frequency hysteresis current control technique for a three-phase VSI feeding an inductive load, using digital signal controller TMS320F2812. The limitations of variable frequency hysteresis control have been discussed and overcoming these limitations by means of digital implementation has been proposed. The complete design procedure of the proposed technique has been presented with an illustrative example. The three-phase VSI feeding an inductive load has also been simulated by using MATLAB and the simulation results have been presented. The hardware results of hysteresis current controlled three-phase VSI feeding an inductive load have been presented. Also the performance analysis of the hysteresis current controller has been presented. Operation of this controller has also been explained with a help of phase plane trajectory of hysteresis controller.

The diode uncontrolled rectifier or the phase controlled rectifier is widely used in conventional rectifier link, thus the conventional rectifier link on the grid inject a large number of harmonics and reactive power, and they cause a severe grid “pollution”. This paper starts from the basic principles of the PWM rectifier, then the paper discusses the topological classification of three-phase PWM rectifier in detail. Based on topological structure, the paper builds the mathematical model of three-phase stationary coordinate system and two-phase rotating coordinate system. Based on space voltage vector, the paper studies PWM control method in-depth and simulates in Matlab/Simulink. The correctness of the theoretical study of three-phase voltage source PWM rectifier system is verified by the simulation results.

This paper is focused on the development of the rectifier for three phase voltage source to achieve unity power factor at input supply mains. The mathematical model is developed for PWM using direct current control and to apply 3- phase voltage source rectifier decoupled with feed-forward control. This method regulates the output voltage with reduced harmonics. Different PWM techniques such as Hysteresis band and Carrier based sinusoidal is applied and their performance is analysed. This work is implemented in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. The results confirm the validity of the model and its control method.
