Web-based learning or e-Learning in contrast to traditional education systems offer a lot of benefits. This article presents the Goal-based Framework for providing personalized similarities between multi users profile preferences in formal e-Learning scenarios. It consists of two main approaches: content-based filtering and collaborative filtering. Because only traditional content-based filtering is not sufficient to generate the recommendations for new-users, therefore, the proposed work hybridized multi user's collaborative filtering functionalities with personalized content-based profile preferences filtering. The main purpose of this proposed work is to (a) overcome the user-based cold-start profile recommendations and (b) improve the recommendations accuracy for new-users in formal e-learning recommendation systems. The experimental has been done by using the famous ‘MovieLens' dataset with 15.86% density of the user-item matrix with respect to ratings, while the evaluation of experimental results have been performed with precision mean and recall mean to test the effectiveness of Goal-based personalized recommendation framework. The Experimental result Precision: 81.90% and Recall: 86.56% show that the proposed framework goals performed well for the improvement of user-based cold-start issue as well as for content-based profile recommendations, using multi users personalized collaborative similarities, in formal e-Learning scenarios effectively.

With the ever increasing demand for the Web-based applications over the Internet, the related security issue has become a great concern. Web document security has been studied by many researchers and various security mechanisms have been proposed. The aim of this article is to investigate the security issue of the XML documents. We discuss a protection mechanism and investigate a formal approach to ensure the security of Web-based XML documents. Our approach starts by introducing a high level language to specify an XML document and its protection authorizations. We also discuss and investigate the syntax and semantics of the language. The flexible and powerful access control specification can effectively protect the documents from unauthorized attempts.

The objective of this research is: 1) to develop a web-based learning system using project-based learning of imagineering to enhance the creative construction of multimedia skills and cooperative learning skills; and 2) to evaluate the quality and efficiency of the web-based learning system using project-based learning of imagineering to enhance the creative construction of multimedia skills and cooperative learning skills. In order to develop the system, the researchers studied concepts and theories of project-based learning and learning activities that fit learners in the 21st century, and which are used to enhance creative construction of multimedia skills and cooperative learning skills. The samples were 5 experts selected from a renowned educational institute with expertise in computer, information and communication technology for education, and educational technology. The web-based learning system was developed in line with the concepts of the ADDIE model of learning and systems development. The results showed that 1) the development of web-based learning can be divided into two sections: (1.1) a student system that displays learning content and a student management system, including a webboard, (1.2) a lecturer system, which is an administrative and learning management made for the students. 2) Evaluation of the quality and efficiency of the developed web-based learning system showed that (2.1) the quality of both learning content and the learning design of the developed web-based learning system was rated at a high level, and (2.2) the overall efficiency of the developed web-based learning system was rated at the highest level.

Prioritizing WEB-based knowledge learning. The approach taken to familiarize students with high-level thinking is helped by WEB. Based on preliminary analysis, it is known that teachers have difficulties in designing a WEB-based social science learning media. This study uses the ADDIE model to develop web-based learning media. The development research flow, namely, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of research in the form of WEB-based social studies learning media products have been declared feasible by a team of experts. Practically, this research can be useful for teachers, the government.

In the era of digital learning, multimedia-based classroom has been commonly used in higher education including Malaysian higher education institutions. A case study has been performed to evaluate web-based learning using Level 1 to 3 of Kirkpatrick's model in a multi-disciplinary course at Multimedia University, Malaysia. In this study, mixed method research was employed in which triangulation was performed from multiple sources of data collection to give deeper understanding. Students perceived that learning with multimedia was enjoyable. They were also motivated in learning and engaged through the use of web module as multimedia was perceived to motivate them and make learning fun. Students showed significant improvements in their knowledge based on the pre-test and post-test results on learning evaluation. Students were perceived to transfer the learning from web-based learning into the learning outcome. The systematic evaluation can provide the feedback that educators and institution as a whole need to improve the learning environment and programme quality. This study contributes to the research field by adding another perspective in evaluations of web-based learning. It also provides empirical evidence on student perspectives, learning and behaviour in a private university. It demonstrated that the Kirkpatrick's model is useful as an evaluation tool to be used in higher education.
