This article proposes an integral sliding mode control scheme for a class of uncertain nonlinear singular fractional-order systems subject to actuator faults. The interval type-2 Takagi–Sugeno model is used to represent the singular fractional-order systems. First, a novel integral sliding surface is constructed. A sufficient condition is given in terms of linear matrix inequalities which guarantees the admissibility and the robustness of the singular fractional-order systems against actuator faults. Then, aiming at the fault information which is difficult to get in the practical application, an adaptive estimation of fault information is proposed to update the sliding mode controller. A sliding mode fault tolerant control law is designed to make the singular fractional-order systems reach the sliding surface in a finite time. At last, the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated by a numerical simulation example.

This paper addresses the detection of the short-circuit faults and the active fault tolerant control (AFTC) of the brushless direct current motor (BLDCM) based on the interval type-2 fuzzy-second order sliding mode. In this article, the main idea consists of using an algorithm to detect the fault in an electric current. This algorithm corrects the detected fault. In this study, a hybrid technique of fault tolerant control is proposed. This technique based on interval type 2 fuzzy logic and second order sliding mode. Also, it facilitates the procedures for setting and controlling the velocity of BLDCM. For that, a dynamic model for direct current has been established. Furthermore, short circuit faults have also been introduced between turns to test the robustness of the control laws. Finally, a theoretical analysis is presented and the simulations are presented in order to validate the proposed control strategy. The proposed AFTC can then achieve favorable tracking performance.

In order to improve the ride comfort and handling stability of the vehicle and realize the recovery of vibration energy, an electromagnetic linear hybrid suspension actuator composed of linear motor and solenoid valve shock absorber is proposed. At the same time, a fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control strategy is designed to solve the system instability caused by the fault of electromagnetic hybrid active suspension. The 1/4 vehicle two-degree-of freedom suspension model, the linear motor mathematical model, and the solenoid valve shock absorber test model are established. In this paper, the fuzzy sliding mode controller is used as the controller and the unknown input observer is used to estimate the state of the suspension. According to the residual obtained from the unknown input observer and compared with the residual threshold, the suspension fault is determined. In the case of fault, the fuzzy sliding mode controller is used to compensate the force and realize the suspension fault-tolerant control. The performance of the suspension is simulated on random road and bumped road, respectively. The simulation results show that the fault-tolerant control effect of the three performance indexes of the suspension is good, and the ride comfort and safety of the suspension are improved. Finally, the bench test is carried out, and the test results show that in the fault-tolerant control state, the root mean square value of the sprung mass acceleration is reduced by 31.69% compared with the fault state and the dynamic performance of the suspension is improved.

This paper presents vibration control of a mixed-mode magnetorheological fluid-based mount system using a new robust fuzzy sliding mode controller. A novel model of controller is built based on adaptive hybrid control of interval type 2 fuzzy controller incorporating with a new modified sliding mode control. The interval type 2 fuzzy is optimized for computational cost by using enhanced iterative algorithm with stop condition, and a new modified switching surface of sliding mode control is designed for preventing the chattering of the system. The controller is then experimentally implemented under uncertain conditions in order to evaluate robust vibration control performance. In addition, in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller, two fuzzy sliding mode control algorithms proposed by Huang and Chan are adopted and modified. The principal control parameters of three controllers are updated online by adaptation laws to meet requirements of magnetorheological mount system which has two operation modes: flow mode and shear mode. It is shown from experimental realization of three controllers that the proposed control strategy performs the best under uncertain conditions compared with two other modified controllers. This merit is verified by presenting vibration control performances in both time and frequency domains.
