In this paper was analyzed on the architecture of PC NC system, and was studied design ideas of PC+I/O software-based structure and its exist advantages, and was analyzed with some key technology solutions, comparative study, and put forward the framework of software and hardware platform design based on PC+I/O software-based structural CNC system.

Making a study of the design of a NC inserting PC open CNC system from the aspect of hardware and software, this paper adopted a programmable multi-axis controller (PMAC) to construct a hardware platform for the open CNC system on the mode of “PC + motion controller”. Introduction was made to a kind of way of implementation of the open CNC system. The developed system can satisfy the experimental requirements of the university’s numerical control laboratory and also be used to rebuild CNC systems.

Short Electric Arc Machining (SEAM) tools were devised for cutting high hardness and strength conductive material. For solution of short electric arc mechanism research and the needs of numerical control melt application, it was necessary to develop a short electric arc CNC machining. The paper introduced the peculiarity and types of the numerical control system’s software and hardware in nowadays. According to the requirement of short electric arc machine an open CNC system was developed in this thesis.

This paper introduces a new open CNC system for winding machines which can overcome the shortcomings the traditional winding machine existed, such as the low control-accuracy, the low speed and the poor quality of its product. The system takes Microprocessor MC68HC000 as the core and its working mode is centralized control and time-sharing processing. The highest drive pulse of the system reaches 500 KPPS and the drive aufloesung can be as high as 0.001mm/Pulse. So, the system software, together with the winding machines’ development kits and operating software, can provide an open design platform of the controller for the winding machine, and it may cater to the market’s needs for winding machines
