Three new cases of anal atresia at 11 weeks of gestation are presented. Two cases were in association with
no classified complex of multiple malformations and VACTERL association and one case was accompanied
with ileocecal stenosis. Anorectal atresia may have a variable presentation which depends on the associated
renal and bowel anomalies.
VACTERL is used to denote vertebral abnormalities (V), anal atresia (A), cardiac defects (C), tracheo-esophageal fistula (TE), renal or radial abnormalities (R), and limb abnormalities (L). This is a case report of a neonate delivered to Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara with features suggestive of VACTERL association.
