Ameloblastoma is a benign but locally invasive neoplasm of the odontogenic epithelium that tends to grow slowly in the mandible or maxilla. It can be highly destructive to the surrounding dental anatomy and can cause death by progressive spread to nearby vital structures in rare cases. Marginal resection is the most effective method of eliminating the tumor, but treatment can further contribute to oral and dental deformity and malfunction. This clinical report describes the dental rehabilitation of a young adult patient diagnosed with ameloblastoma and underwent preliminary marsupialization, segmental mandibulectomy, and fibula free flap reconstruction, followed by mandibular dental implant placements. Orthodontic and rapid palatal expansion for maxillary arch correction was also performed. The treatment goal of regaining dental function and a satisfactory appearance was accomplished.

Rehabilitation becomes more challenging with the partial edentulism where bilateral segment is found missing. The collapse of posterior teeth also results in the loss of normal occlusal plane and the reduction of the vertical dimension. This case report describes the rehabilitation of a 65-year old female patient with multiple missing teeth and severe loss of tooth structure. The maxillary arch was restored with fixed partial dentures and the mandibular arch using porcelain fused to metal crowns and removable prosthodontics. ABSTRACT Aim of the study Complete rehabilitation of a 38-year-old female patient with radiation caries and xerostomia postirradiation therapy for the treatment of carcinoma of esophagus, by a multidisciplinary approach involving specialties of periodontics, endodontics and prosthodontics. Summary This 38-year-old female patient presented with missing teeth, ill fitting prosthesis, radiation caries and xerostomia as a consequence of radiation therapy. In addition, the patient was severely psychologically affected not just due to the carcinoma, but also due to the adverse effects of cancer therapy. Therefore, rehabilitation of such a patient was aimed not just at careful oral reconstruction of lost and damaged structures but also towards providing a boost to her self-esteem. The outcome of this multidisciplinary approach led to a completely wellrehabilitated patient, both orally as well as psychologically.

ABSTRACT Esthetic and functional rehabilitation of severely worn dentition presents a significant challenge to the restorative dentist. The prerequisites in restoring the worn dentition are to understand the determinants of the occlusal vertical dimension and the effects of its alteration on the temporomandibular joint, muscle comfort, bite force, speech and long-term occlusal stability. This clinical report describes a sequential treatment procedure of full mouth rehabilitation of a patient with severe attrition and cervical abrasion of teeth with metal-ceramic restorations and implant supported fixed dental prosthesis after establishing a functional and esthetic vertical dimension and occlusal plane. ABSTRACT The esthetic and functional rehabilitation of severely worn dentition and partial edentulism is probably one of the most intellectually and technically demanding tasks faced by the restorative dentist. The severe wear of teeth and missing teeth has multiple implications in relation to loss of anterior guidance, reduction of vertical dimension and disfigurement of the occlusal plane. Hence, restoring vertical dimension without compromising occlusal, functional and esthetic requirements is utmost essential for long-term success. This clinical report describes the rehabilitation of patient with severely worn dentition and missing posterior teeth using the integration of fixed and removable prostheses. This case reports improvement in phonetics and occlusions with esthetic enhancement by restoring sufficient interocclusal space. How to cite this article Kamble VD. ABSTRACT Excessive occlusal wear can result in pulpal injury, occlusal disharmony, impaired function and esthetic deformity. Loss of anterior guidance can result from severe wear of anterior teeth, which protects the posterior teeth during excursive movement. The collapse of posterior teeth also results in the loss of normal occlusal plane and the reduction of the vertical dimension. This clinical report describes the use of Hobo Twin- stage procedure for rehabilitation of a patient with severe tooth wear, resulting in reduced VDO.
