large passenger flow is a common condition of urban transit operation, and the station bears the pressure of large passenger flow directly. This paper analyzes the reason for the appearance of large passenger flow and the characteristics of it, discusses the principles and methods that the station can apply under large passenger flow combined with the passenger’s transport process and the operation process.

There are many ticket gates at the subway station. The managers are quite careful about the load degree of the ticket gates. This paper studies two different methods to calculate the load degree of the ticket gates. One is based on the station ticket gates group as the research object, and the other one is based on the volume of passenger flow passing in and out of the station as the research object. Then we use the data investigated at Chaoyangmen station in Beijing to test and verify both of the methods. At last, we can get the conclusion that we can get the same result by the two methods, but the method of based on the volume of passenger flow passing in and out of the station is more reasonable.

Large-scale passenger flows occur frequently during the peak hours of urban rail transit stations and on holidays. Thus, the timely and accurate early warning of impending large-scale passenger flows can positively impact the operational safety of the entire station. By further deepening the definition of passenger flow warnings in stations, a new model of urban rail transit station passenger flow based on system dynamics is constructed. The method of determining the key area of passenger flows in the early warning stage based on streamlines is proposed; the key indicators and thresholds affecting early warnings are studied. Finally, taking a typical station as an example, a station model is built using Anylogic software. The parameter sensitivity analysis is used to determine the impact of each key indicator on the passenger flow in the key area of the station early warning, and the reference threshold of each indicator is determined.

Passenger capacity of rail transit station is not only the basis of station design and passenger flow organization, but also an important factor to ensure safety operation of rail transit. This paper analyzes urban rail transit station from the perspective of system, and discusses the coordination and feedback relationships of passenger flow distribution between different facilities. By analyzing the law of the passenger flow, a system dynamics simulation model is established with the system dynamics software, Stella, and the limits of passenger capacity of Beijing Dongdan station is calculated under different conditions. These results provide bases for the management of transit operation.
