An anisotropic wave in a porous medium is a hot topic in the coastal protection. A fractal derivative model is established, and a variational principle is established for the anisotropic wave traveling. The variational principle reveals an energy conservation law during the traveling process.

According to energy conservation law, the functional of quasi-variational principle of rigid-elastic coupled dynamics is established. Quasi-stationary value conditions of quasi-variational principle of rigid-elastic coupled dynamics are derived. The governing equations of rigid-elastic coupled dynamics are obtained. As an application of rigid-elastic coupled dynamics, an approach of coupled vibration mode determined of unrestrained beam is established. The coupled vibration mode and coupled frequency are studied by the approach.

Abstract The variational principle is used to construct a multi-symplectic structure of the generalized KdV-type equation. Accordingly, the local energy conservation law, the local momentum conservation law, and the Cartan form of the generalized KdV-type equation are given. An explicit multi-symplectic scheme for the generalized KdV equation based on the Fourier pseudo-spectral method and the symplectic Euler scheme is constructed. Through a numerical examination, the explicit multi-symplectic Fourier pseudo-spectral scheme for the generalized KdV equation not only preserve the discrete global energy conservation law and the global momentum conservation law with high accuracy, but show long-time numerical stability as well.

With the growth of the total mileage of highway. There is great importance in studying highway safety. At the present time, there are little research on traffic safety with the consideration of the Keep-Right-Except-To-Pass Rule, which requires drivers to drive in the right-most lane unless they are passing another vehicle. Based on Cellular Automata, this paper constructs a new model of highway safety with the consideration of the particular Rule. To evaluate the safety of the road, the model proposes a new index based on energy conservation law. After the simulation, the result shows the best traffic density to balance the safety and traffic flux is 20.1133veh/km.
