We introduce the general iterative methods for finding a common fixed point of asymptotically nonexpansive semigroups which is a unique solution of some variational inequalities. We prove the strong convergence theorems of such iterative scheme in a reflexive Banach space which admits a weakly continuous duality mapping. The main result extends various results existing in the current literature.

We introduce a new general composite iterative scheme for finding a common fixed point of nonexpansive semigroups in the framework of Banach spaces which admit a weakly continuous duality mapping. A strong convergence theorem of the purposed iterative approximation method is established under some certain control conditions. Our results improve and extend announced by many others.

In this paper, first, we introduce a path for a convex combination of a pseudocontractive type of mappings with a perturbed mapping and prove strong convergence of the proposed path in a real reflexive Banach space having a weakly continuous duality mapping. Second, we propose two modified implicit iterative methods with a perturbed mapping for a continuous pseudocontractive mapping in the same Banach space. Strong convergence theorems for the proposed iterative methods are established. The results in this paper substantially develop and complement the previous well-known results in this area.

We introduce two general hybrid iterative approximation methods (one implicit and one explicit) for finding a fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping which solving the variational inequality generated by two strongly positive bounded linear operators. Strong convergence theorems of the proposed iterative methods are obtained in a reflexive Banach space which admits a weakly continuous duality mapping. The results presented in this paper improve and extend the corresponding results announced by Marino and Xu (2006), Wangkeeree et al. (in press), and Ceng et al. (2009).

In this paper, we prove strong convergence of a path for a convex combination of a pseudocontractive type of operators in a real reflexive Banach space having a weakly continuous duality mapping J? with gauge function ?. Using path convergency, we establish strong convergence of an implicit iterative algorithm for a pseudocontractive mapping combined with a strongly pseudocontractive mapping in the same Banach space.

We introduce the modified iterations of Mann's type for nonexpansive mappings and asymptotically nonexpansive mappings to have the strong convergence in a uniformly convex Banach space. We study approximation of common fixed point of asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in Banach space by using a new iterative scheme. Applications to the accretive operators are also included.

In the framework of a real Banach space with uniformly Gateaux differentiable norm, some new viscosity iterative sequences{xn}are introduced for an infinite family of asymptotically nonexpansive mappingsTii=1∞in this paper. Under some appropriate conditions, we prove that the iterative sequences{xn}converge strongly to a common fixed point of the mappingsTii=1∞, which is also a solution of a variational inequality. Our results extend and improve some recent results of other authors.

A selfmapping f of a metric space (X, d) is nonexpansive (ε-nonexpansive) if d(f(x), f(y)) ≤ d(x, y) for all x, y ∊ X (respectively if d(x, y) < ε). In [1], M. Edelstein proved that a nonexpansive mapping f of En admits a fixed point provided the f-closure of En (i.e. the set of all points which are cluster points of {fn(x)} for some x) is nonempty. R. D. Holmes [2] considered commutative semigroups of selfmappings of a metric space and obtained fixed point theorems for such semigroups under certain contractivity conditions.

A mapping T: A →A is called asymptoically semicontractive if there exists a mapping S: A×A→A and a sequence (kn) in [1, ∞] such that Tx=S(x, x) for all x ∈A while for each fixed x ∈A, S(., x) is asymptotically nonexpansive with sequence (kn) and S(x,.) is strongly compact. Among other things, it is proved that each asymptotically semicontractive self-mpping T of a closed bounded and convex subset A of a uniformly convex Banach space E which satisfies Opial's condition has a fixed point in A, provided s has a certain asymptoticregurity property.

Let T be an asymptotically nonexpansive self-mapping of a closed bounded and convex subset of a uniformly convex Banach space which satisfies Opial's condition. It is shown that, under certain assumptions, the sequence given by xn+1 = αnTn(xn) + (1 - αn)xn converges weakly to some fixed point of T. In arbitrary uniformly convex Banach spaces similar results are obtained concerning the strong convergence of (xn) to a fixed point of T, provided T possesses a compact iterate or satisfies a Frum-Ketkov condition of the fourth kind.

In a real Banach space E with a uniformly differentiable norm, we prove that a new iterative sequence converges strongly to a fixed point of an asymptotically nonexpansive mapping. The results in this paper improve and extend some recent results of other authors.
