A divergence measure plays an important role in discriminating two probability distributions and drawing inferences based on such discrimination. This communication introduces one such divergence measure based on Jensen inequality and exponential entropy introduced by Pal and Pal in the settings of probability theory. Further, the idea has been generalized to fuzzy sets to introduce a new fuzzy divergence measure. Besides establishing the validity, some of its major properties are also studied. At last, the application of proposed fuzzy divergence measure is given in strategic decision-making.

A divergence measure plays a crucial part in discriminating two probability distributions and drawing inferences constructed on such discrimination. The intention of this study is to propose such a divergence measure based on Jensen inequality and exponential entropy in the settings of probability theory. Further, the idea has been generalized to fuzzy sets to familiarize a novel picture fuzzy divergence measure. Besides proposing the validity, some of its key properties are also deliberated. Finally, two illustrative examples are solved based on the proposed picture fuzzy divergence measure which shows the expediency and effectiveness of the proposed approach.

The aim of this applied research is to focus on real-life application of multiple attribute decision making (MADM) methods and their adaptation in a way which can be acceptable for business practice. The study will apply the group decision making methods on a Balanced Scorecard (BSC) as a type of performance measurement and strategic decision making. The study is mainly concerned with multiple criteria decomposition method of analytic network process (ANP) method, WINGS technique and entropy. This group of methods had been already applied in several business domains. However, majority of the implementation was only presented as an example how it could work in practice, but they were not investigated from the perspective of how much information they could provide to the management. In this paper, proposed methods will be used to determine which criteria are most important for the company within the Balanced Scorecard and results of all methods will be compared. The aim of this study is, by utilizing group MADM approach, to discover the areas of the BSC which must be improved so that a total performance increases.

Entropy in a fuzzy set measures the amount of ambiguity/imprecision presented in the fuzzy set. In this article, the authors introduce a generalized fuzzy entropy measure and demonstrate its effectiveness in Multiple Attribute Decision Making (MADM) and superiority from the point of view of structured linguistic variables. This article also introduces a generalized fuzzy directed divergence and investigates its properties. Further, this article demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed generalized directed divergence in pattern recognition.
