A full list of all known mosses from the island of Mauritius is presented, with a political and botanical history, including short biographies of relevant botanists and their collections, followed by a critical list of the taxa. About 700 records are listed, from 55 collectors. Jan-Peter Frahm visited the island in 2007 and contributed with 33 new records, including Bryohumbertia flavicoma (Mull.Hal. ex Broth.) J.-P.Frahm, new to Mauritius

In two moss samples collected from Turkey four tardigrade species, including a species new for science and a new recordfor the country, were found. The new species, Milnesium beasleyi sp. nov., differs from other known species of the gran-ulatum group by having sparsely distributed cuticular depressions (pseudopores) that do not form an apparent reticulum. In addition to the unique cuticular sculpturing, the new species differs from other congeners also by some morphometriccharacters. Macrobiotus reinhardti Michalczyk & Kaczmarek, 2003 is a new record for Turkey and it is also the first re-cord of this species outside its type locality on Cyprus. The new records raise the number of known Turkish water bearspecies to 50. In this paper, we provide a full list of the known Turkish tardigrade species with their localities. Moreover, we present some zoogeographical and taxonomic issues concerning Turkish tardigrades.

Sampling of foliicolous lichens by the first author in Suriname in 2014 resulted in 103 records of lichenized and lichenicolous fungi for Suriname, including 89 first records for the country and one undescribed species. Fieldwork in Guyana by the second author in 1992 and 1997 brought 29 new records, including a new chemical strain for Loflammea epiphylla and two undescribed species. A full list for Suriname is presented (130 taxa), the additions for Guyana are listed, and the new species Calenia surinamensis, Enterographa paruimae and Strigula transversoundulata are described.

SynopsisThe introduction contains an appreciation of the work of James Ritchie (1882–1958) on hydroids. His collections in the Royal Scottish Museum consisting of 266 species have been re-examined and listed with up-to-date synonymy, this also serving as a catalogue of all the identified hydroid material in this Museum.Among the important collections are those made by W. S. Bruce in the Scotia and E. H. Shackleton's Antarctic Expeditions; there is also much valuable secondary material, especially in the form of micro-preparations, from collections reported on by Ritchie, notably those of the Australian Thetis Expedition, the Scottish Loch collections of Sir John Murray, the Indian Museum and collections by Cyril Crossland, James Simpson and Rudmose Brown and others.Ritchie described many new species and varieties and all the type material has been noted, lectotypes being designated where necessary.Hydroids from the Goldseeker collections of the Fishery Board for Scotland were not reported on by Ritchie although he identified a considerable number of samples from Scottish waters—these have been included in this survey. These new records are of considerable value for compiling distribution lists. Apart from Ritchie's own work little has been done on hydroids from waters around the north of Scotland since the days of Hincks, Allman and Norman. The bibliography contains a full list of James Ritchie's hydroid papers.

The floristic exploration and critical examination of specimens collected of family Convolvulaceae from Upper Gangetic Plains of India, resulted in addition of 2 new records for the flora viz. Ipomoea littoralis and Ipomoea capitellata var. multilobata. Detailed description, phenology, ecology, distribution, locality, field number, type specimens examined, illustrations and other relevant notes are provided.
