The Palaearctic species of Myiocephalus Marshall, 1898 (Braconidae, Euphorinae) are revised and a new species (M. zwakhalsi sp. n.) from Austria is described and illustrated. A key to the Palaearctic species is provided. Myiocephalus niger Fischer, 1957, is a new record for China and the Nearctic Myiocephalus laticeps (Provancher, 1886) is re-instated as valid species. A lectotype is designated for Aphidius hedini Fahringer, 1929.

The Indo-Pacific peristediid genus Satyrichthys Kaup, 1873 was first diagnosed as having a broad head with mesethmoid, postocular, parietal and preopercular spines. Later, most ichthyologists characterized Satyrichthys by its toothless jaws and strong preopercular spine. Kawai (2008) divided Satyrichthys into two genera, Satyrichthys and Scalicus, on the basis of a phylogenetic hypothesis, and redefined Satyrichthys. Seven species of Satyrichthys are recognized here, including one new species: S. clavilapis, S. laticeps, S. longiceps, S. milleri sp. nov., S. moluccensis, S. rieffeli and S. welchi. The new species is distinguished from its congeners in having equilateral-triangular rostral projections, 4 lip and 4 chin barbels, and no anterior directed spines on the upper lateral row of the caudal peduncle. Satyrichthys laticeps, previously treated as a junior synonym of S. moluccensis, is regarded as a valid species. The following new synonyms are noted: S. adeni, S. halyi and S. magnus are all junior synonyms of S. laticeps; S. isokawae is a junior synonym of S. moluccensis; and S. lingi is a junior synonym of S. welchi. In addition, a neotype is designated for S. moluccensis.

One new species of subfamily Sericothripinae (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) is described and illustrated: Hydatothrips longjingensis sp. n., and H. abdominalis (Kurosawa) is newly recorded from China. The following taxonomic changes are established: Sericothrips houji (Chou & Feng) comb. n. (from Hydatothrips).

The genus Nola was established with the western Palaearctic species Noctua cucullatella (Linnaeus, 1758) described from Austria as its type species. Nola occurs in all continents except the Antarctica and contains more than 200 valid Eurasian and North African taxa (László et al., 2014). The genus Nola can be easily distinguished from other genera of Nolinae with the distinctive features as the degenerate uncus, the divided valva with the ventral valval lobe bearing the harpe and a curved carina process in male genitalia. In our recent survey, we report a new species Nola senmuzhaensis sp. nov. and a new record of Nola sikkima (Moore, 1888) from Tibet, China. Adults and genitalia are illustrated. The type specimens are deposited in Southwest University of Science and Technology (SWUST).

The genus Bambusiphaga Huang & Ding is recorded from India for the first time and one new species B. unispina sp. nov. is described and illustrated. The new species is similar to B. taiwanensis (Muir) but can be separated by the male genitalic structure.

The members of the genus Pelthydrus are small-sized aquatic beetles which belong to the water scavenger beetle family Hydrophilidae. At present the lineage includes 63 valid species mainly occurring in Asia, with 21 known from China (Bian et al. 2008, 2009; Hansen 1999; Schönmann 1995). One new species is described here, which belongs to the Pelthydrus sculpturatus species group, bringing the total number of species within the group to seven (Schönmann 1995). One additional species is reported from China for the first time. Specimens were collected from Yunnan Province and are deposited in IAECAS (Institute of Applied Ecology, Shenyang, Chinese Academy of Sciences).

Two hyphomycetous species were collected from leaves of Smilax china (Liliales, Smilacaceae) and Cremastra appendiculata (Asparagales, Orchidaceae). ITS barcoding indicated that they belong to the genus Zasmidium. Morphological data in combination with molecular phylogenetic analyses based on ITS, LSU and rpb2 confirmed that our Chinese strains represented a new species, Zasmidium liboense and a new record of Z. citri-griseum.

One new species and one newly recorded species of Polycystididae from China, Paulodora sinensis n. sp. and Polycystis ali Schockaert, 1982, were described based on comprehensive morphological and molecular analyses. In Paulodora sinensis n. sp., the stylet is double-walled and is composed of a funnel-shaped proximal part and a spiral distal part, while the outer stylet forms a minor fold proximally. In Polycystis ali Schockaert, 1982, the stylet is also double-walled with a funnel-shaped proximal part. However, the collar-shaped distal part is partially concave and forms a jagged edge. The concatenated 18S rDNA and 28S rDNA phylogenetic analysis supports the establishment of the new species. Besides, based on the morphology of stylet, we have made detailed categorization among the recorded species within these two genera.

The leafhopper genus Nesoclutha, a known vector of plant pathogens, currently comprises four species worldwide. In this paper, one new species added from China, N. concavipenis sp. nov., is described and one new record, N. phryne (Kirkaldy) (= N. pallida Evans) from China is given. A checklist and a key to all known species in the genus are provided.

The genus Propristocera Kieffer was very recently revived from the synonymy of the genus Apenesia Westwood, and consists of a total of 25 valid species recorded from the Afrotropical, Oriental and Palaearctic regions. Only two of its species, P. formosimonticola and P. pingtungensis, have been previously recorded from Taiwan. In this study, we examined species of Propristocera collected from Taiwan and the Ryukyus based on external morphology, male genital morphology and molecular phylogenetic analyses, gene markers: nuclear 28SrDNA, mitochondrial COI. In consequence, four species were recognized. Propristocera okinawensis had its record expanded from the Ryukyus to Taiwan, whereas P. kusigematii previously known from the Ryukyus was synonymized under P. pingtungensis, which was known from Taiwan. Furthermore, one new species, Propristocera seediq sp. nov., was discovered in Taiwan and the Ryukyus.
