This study is an examination of human resources management practices in Japanese organizations operating in the United States in general and those operating in Fort Custer Industrial Park, Battle Creek, Michigan, in specific. The study attempts to identify the characteristics of human resources management in the subject organizations, compares them with the practices of their parent organizations in Japan, and looks at the modifications necessitated by a new culture and the requirements of a new environment.
