With Multi-Objective Optimization (MOO) mechanisms, many practical scenarios are imitated in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). In MOO numerous desirable conflicting or non-conflicting objectives contend with one another and the decision has to be done among multiple available solutions. Based on the type of situation, Programme, and issue to be solved, the MOO problem has varied solutions. The solution chosen is a tradeoff solution on several occasions. In WSN, it is possible to identify MOO issues and associated solutions based on network architecture, node deployment, MAC strategies, routing, data aggregation, node mobility, etc. In this context, the paper proposes mobility aware, competent; delay tolerant Energy Efficient Hybrid Routing Protocol (EEHRP). Optimizing several metrics to pick the best route from the source to the target node is the cornerstone of the EEHRP. Multi-Objective optimization from optimization theory is a NP-hard problem. EEHRP seeks to obtain a Pareto optimal solution for the section of best MOO-based route under sensor node. The simulation results demonstrate that, relative to state-of-the-art solutions, EEHRP is efficient in terms of energy, throughput, delay, control- and routing-overheads. Furthermore, the paper investigates statistical significance of the findings obtained across confidence intervals. To prove EEHRP’s competence, a confidential interval of 95% is inserted into the simulation results obtained to represent margin of error around the estimated points. The on-hand state-of-art solutions and the propensity of the research fraternity in relation to MOO are also analyzed in this paper.

Researchers have faced numerous challenges while designing WSNs and protocols in numerous applications. Amongst all sustaining connectivity and capitalizing on the network lifetime is a serious deliberation. To tackle these two problems, the authors have considered Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks (MWSNs). In this paper, the authors put forward an Evolutionary Mobility aware multi-objective hybrid Routing Protocol for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks (EMRP). EMRP selects the optimal path from source node to sink by means of various metrics such as Average Energy consumption, Control Overhead, Reaction Time, LQI, and HOP Count. The Performance of EMRP when equated with Simple Hybrid Routing Protocol (SHRP) and Dynamic Multi-Objective Routing Algorithm (DyMORA) using parameters such as Average Residual Energy (ARE), Delay and Normalized Routing Load. EMRP improves AES by a factor of 4.93% as related to SHRP and 5.15% as related to DyMORA. EMRP has a 6% lesser delay as compared with DyMORA.

Background: Wireless sensor networks play a significant role in network technologies. It is difficult to determine an optimal route that satisfies the requirements of wireless sensor networks. Energy-aware and trust-aware routing protocols play a critical role in the security of wireless sensor networks. In SRPMA (secure routing protocol based on multiobjective ant colony) routing protocol have very limited parameters and functions as well as ant colony algorithm is specifically finding the roots in which convergence limited Objective: This paper proposed an improved multi-objective trust-energy aware hybrid routing protocol using hybrid grey wolf genetic algorithm (I-MTERP-GWOGA) to achieve a quality of service by optimizing network security and reducing energy consumption in wireless sensor networks. Methods: Energy-aware function calculated by the radio energy dissipation model to ensure the nodes involves in the route is capable of transmitting the data packets successfully or not. The load function is directly impacting the delay of the transmission of data packets. Results: I-MTERP-GWOGA algorithm shows better simulation results than secure routing protocol based on multiobjective ant-colony (SRPMA) and improved ant colony optimization based security routing protocol (IASR) algorithms using matlab2019a. Conclusion: The proposed algorithm improves performance against malicious nodes using five network performance criteria; packet delivery ratio, packet loss rate, average energy consumption, and end to end delay.
