Abstract ALUMINUM 5252 is a high-purity aluminum-magnesium alloy of moderate strength, good fabricating characteristics and excellent resistance to corrosion. It is highly resistant to denting and is used widely as trim in the automotive industry and for a wide variety of other industrial products. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-161. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies. Originally published December 1966, revised January 1980.
