A Continuum (filled polymer) is inhomogeneous and anisotropic. The Continuum is used in an injection moulding simulation at first (generally unnewton type of fluid). Then the continuum is solid (after cooling) and it is possible to carry out ordinary structural analysis with it both static and dynamic. The solid continuum has different mechanical properties for each of discrete element. The consequent values of mechanical characteristics (after simulation of load) will generally have different values when influence of injection moulding is taken into account for analyses.

Abstract Given the important role of synchronous belts in the functioning of mechanisms, they are the subject of numerous studies and researches in order to define them more and more finely. Their mechanical characteristics influence the behavior in operation of the mechanisms that they entail. Also, the measurement of the characteristics of the longitudinal stiffness of the belt and the stiffness of the teeth is necessary to better control their behavior. In addition, these parameters constitute input data for models of lifetime and dynamic behavior of synchronous transmissions. An approach for the determination of longitudinal stiffness is presented. We have demonstrated a study comparing the measurement of the rigidity of a toothed belt by two methods. This is to qualify the first method of measurement through experimentation. And the second measurement method using the simulation of this toothed belt by SOLIDWORKS software.

So far, in computer-aided modelling programs, there have not been implemented tools for the automatic generation of a dynamic model of an elastic belt transmission, created in the form of a multibody system. The publication presents reflections on this issue. There were developed scripts allowing one to automatically obtain the appropriate arrangement of links with respect to each other and to create the desired mechanical relations between or among them and other drive elements in the simulation. The programming bases of the proposed solutions were presented. Theoretical concepts were supported by application experiments in the Siemens NX environment. The method for the automatic generation of a multibody model of the toothed belt transmission, based on the geometric model of the latter, was developed. The work enabled the formulation of the conclusions on the development of modelling of the systems under consideration. The results of the research indicate high potential of the presented achievements. They constitute a basis for increasing the degree of computer technique aid for constructors or analysts.

Electricity plays an imperative role in improving the rural or remote community economic growth and quality of life. The pico hydro type Archimedes screw turbine (AST) is considered an independent power plant in rural or remote areas. The advantages of the AST are friendly to aquatic biota, the high and stable efficiency (electrical efficiency of 30% to 49%), and can operate in a run of river conditions. However, although this technology has been studied ± two decades, there is still no theory explaining the relationship between conversion energy, the geometry of screws, and efficiency. Therefore, the development of Archimedes screw focuses on the role of a converter water energy categorized as the environmentally friendly power plant. Thus, this paper aims to describe the future work required for the AST so that the basic principles and empirical theories are found. Based on reviews, the AST design can use Rorres and Muller & Senior analysis, AC generators with a pulley and toothed belt transmission systems, and do not immerse the outflow bucket side in the water. Furthermore, for AST to be better, several studies need to be done such as the method of manufacturing precision screws, the effect bubbles in the bucket and how to avoid them, determination optimum of the head and screw length using the slope angle, and investigation of the ratio of the inlet velocity with the angular velocity of a wheel on performance to avoid overflow leakage due to loading.
