The title compound, C25H20BNO2 · CH3OH, was examined by UV, IR, 1H, and 13C NMK spectroscopy as well as by thermogravimetry and X-ray structure analysis (Pbnb, a = 8.815, b = 17.309, c=28.992 Å, R= 5.5%). These investigations show the six-membered chelate ring (chelate A) to exist as formulated in [2] and not as a five-membered chelate ring B. One methanol molecule connects two chelate molecules by hydrogen bonds, resulting in an overall ratio of chelate to methanol of 1 : 1.

A polycrystalline sample of a new polymorph of the title compound, C8H11NO2, was produced during a variable-temperature X-ray powder diffraction study. The crystal structure was solved at 1.67 Å resolution by simulated annealing from laboratory powder data collected at 250 K. Subsequent Rietveld refinement yielded an R wp of 0.070 to 1.54 Å resolution. The structure contains two molecules in the asymmetric unit, which form a C 2 2(8) chain motif via N—H...O hydrogen bonds.

The title compound, C14H11BrO, was synthesized by the reaction of 4-methylbenzophenone and bromine in carbon tetrachloride. X-ray crystal structure analysis reveals that the benzene and phenyl rings form a dihedral angle of 59.53 (6)°, and the crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular C—H...π interactions.

The structure of the title compound, C7H8O3, was determined in the course of our studies of the synthesis of cyclopenta[1,2-b]furan-4-one derivatives. The molecule has four chiral C atoms. The X-ray crystal structure analysis shows the compound to possess an epoxide group with an endo orientation with respect to the lactone group.

The absolute configuration of the title compound, C10H16O4, determined as 3aS,4S,5R,7aRon the basis of the synthetic pathway, was confirmed by X-ray diffraction. The molecule contains a five- and a six-membered ring that adopt twisted and envelope conformations, respectively. The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the rings is 76.80 (11)° as a result of theircis-fusion. In the crystal, molecules are linked by two pairs of O—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [010]. These chains are further connected by weaker C—H...O interactions along [100], creating (001) sheets that interact only by weak van der Waals forces.

The title compound represents the thallium(I) salt of a substituted 1,2,5-oxadiazole, [Tl(C3H3N4O3)] n , with amino- and hydroxamate groups in the 4- and 3- positions of the oxadiazole ring, respectively. In the crystal, the deprotonated hydroxamate group represents an intermediate between the keto/enol tautomers and forms a five-membered chelate ring with the thallium(I) cation. The coordination sphere of the cation is augmented to a distorted disphenoid by two monodentately binding O atoms from two adjacent anions, leading to the formation of zigzag chains extending parallel to the b axis. The cohesion within the chains is supported by π–π stacking [centroid–centroid distance = 3.746 (3) Å] and intermolecular N—H...N hydrogen bonds.

Use of mixed-ligand (bromide and thiocyanate ions) coordination with nickel has led to the crystallization of the title compound, (C24H20As)2[Ni(NCS)2Br2]. X-ray crystal structure analysis reveals that the asymmetric unit contains one (C6H5)4As+ cation and one half [Ni(NCS)2Br2]2− anion, the latter lying on a crystallographic twofold axis.

In the title compound, C18H18ClN3O2S, the dihedral angle between the fused pyrazole and pyridine rings is 3.81 (9)°. The benzene ring forms dihedral angles of 35.08 (10) and 36.26 (9)° with the pyrazole and pyridine rings, respectively. In the crystal, weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds connect molecules along [100].

The title compound, C10H5ClF2N2OS, was obtained by linking an amino heterocycle and a substituted benzoyl chloride. The dihedral angle between the two rings is 41.2 (2)° and the equalization of the amide C—N bond lengths reveals the existence of conjugation between the benzene ring and the thiazole unit. In the crystal, pairs of N—H...N hydrogen bonds link molecules into inversion dimers. Non-classical C—H...F and C—H...O hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal structure.

In the title compound, C44H37BN4O2, the dihedral angle between the plane of the porphyrin macrocycle ring system [r.m.s. deviation = 0.159 (1) Å] and those of three phenyl rings are 66.11 (4), 74.75 (4) and 57.00 (4)°. The conformational distortion is characterized by a mixture of ruffled, saddle and in-plane distortion modes. In the crystal, the porphyrin molecules are linked by C—H...π interactions into supramolecular chains running along thea-axis direction. A pair of bifurcated N—H...(N,N) hydrogen bonds occur across the central region of the macrocycle.
