En este trabajo nos proponemos analizar la propuesta del concepto de femenino en el pensamiento de Friedrich Schleiermacher, un análisis no muy común cuando se trata de uno de los principales teólogos modernos. Sin embargo, pocos saben que Schleiermacher ha sido entre los primeros filósofos que eleva el tema de lo femenino a objeto de reflexión filosófica. Por lo cual, nos proponemos, partiendo de su escrito llamado Cartas Confidenciales a la novela Lucinde de Friedrich Schlegel, comprender el valor de la virtud femenina necesaria crear comunidad y cultura. Para esto, primero presentaremos un breve contexto en el cual surge el pensamiento de Friedrich Schleiermacher; después expondremos la intención y el mensaje de la novela Lucinde de Friedrich Schlegel, para de allí analizar cuál fue la intención de Schleiermacher al escribir la Cartas Confidenciales y como llega a considerar que uno de los principios fundamentales de la vida ética es una virtud femenina. La vigencia de esta propuesta de Schleiermacher para nuestros tiempos es muy importante para hacernos comprender hoy que lo femenino no se tiene que imponer mediante una ideología de género, sino que la mujer tiene que aprender descubrir y valorar lo valiosos en su propia naturaleza para así contribuir, como siempre lo ha hecho, al desarrollo de la cultura.

Even though Germany’s colonial empire lasted merely three decades, from 1884 to 1915, German colonial fantasies shaped intellectual production from the late eighteenth century onward. This cultural climate shapes a great variety of engagements with the Bible, from the beginnings of liberal theology with Friedrich Schleiermacher to missionary efforts and the rather abstract academic productions of biblical scholarship in the late nineteenth century, including the prominent history of religions school. At the same time, there are also efforts to resist colonial tendencies, sometimes in the work of the same authors who otherwise perpetuate the colonial spirit.

Abstract Between 1819 and 1832 Friedrich Schleiermacher was giving lectures on the life of Jesus at the University of Berlin. The following article includes two partial editions, which document the introductory parts of the lectures from 1819/20 and 1829/30. Both are based on manuscripts written by Schleiermacher’s listeners. Especially to explore the development of Schleiermacher’s conceptual considerations this two partial editions should be a useful addition to the new critical edition of Schleiermacher’s Vorlesungen über das Leben Jesu published in 2018 by Walter Jaeschke (KGA II/15).

AbstractAs a philosopher, Schleiermacher is still overshadowed by his influence as a theologian. The recent research project at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (Friedrich Schleiermacher in Berlin 1808-1834. Correspondence, appointment books, lectures) tries to correct this view by exploring Schleiermacher’s theoretical efforts in philosophy as well as in theology within the historical context and his personal networks in Berlin. The essay gives an overview of the materials to be edited in the research project and its aims, especially in specifying Schleiermacher’s political stance.

Abstract Ludwig von Mühlenfels as Advocatus Schleiermacheri. An addendum. The editorial copy of the “Allgemeine Zeitung” has survived in the Cotta-Archive with the names of the contributors. This has made it possible to identify belatedly the author of the apologia “Another word about Schleiermacher” in the “Außerordentliche Beilage der Allgemeinen Zeitung” (Augsburg) of April 2, 1834. It was Ludwig Friedrich von Mühlenfels (1793–1861). Mühlenfels, who led a rather varied life, was related to Schleiermacher’s wife Henriette, and thus belonged to Schleiermacher’s extended family. (1) Member of Lützow’s Freicorps. On Schleiermacher’s suggestion, Mühlenfels participated in the war of liberation against Napoleon as a volunteer with the “Black Hunters”, in the end in the so-called Battle of the Nations at Leipzig. He finished the study of law in 1816 and, on probation, joined the prosecutor’s office in Cologne where the French legal code was still in force. (2) Incarcerated as a demagogue under the investigating judge E. T. A. Hoffmann. Mühlenfels became one of the formative figures in the early history of German fraternities and participated in the Wartburg Festival in October 1817. He was arrested in July 1819 by the authorities in Berlin, charged with activities as a demagogue and incarcerated in Berlin on September 17. Mühlenfels contested the jurisdiction of the authorities in Berlin and refused to testify. The investigative judge was the writer and composer E. T. A. Hoffmann who wanted to have Mühlenfels released, and who later used him as a literary figure in a satirical novel. (3) Flight from Berlin – Exile in Sweden. On May 5, 1821, Mühlenfels succeeded in fleeing to Sweden where he made a meagerly living as a private tutor. (4) Professor for German and Scandinavian Literature in London – Return to Prussia. In October 1827, Mühlenfels reached London. Supported by some German scholars, he obtained the Chair for German and Scandinavian at the newly founded University College. He taught there until 1831 and publishedseveral textbooks. When he was acquitted by a court ruling in 1830, he returned to the Prussian public service in August 1831 and gradually built a solid career. (5) The defender of Schleiermacher. His apologia of Schleiermacher written in opposition to the obituary by Gutzkow is a masterpiece of literary and legal writing. – First publication: Six letters between Mühlenfels, Henriette and Friedrich Schleiermacher, and Georg Andreas Reimer.

Von Friedrich Schleiermacher bis Nathan Söderblom und Claude Levi-Strauss Die Religionswissenschaft ist ein vergleichsweise junges Fach, welches sich seit Beginn des letzten Jahrhunderts zunehmend in der universitären Forschung etabliert. Derzeit wird sie an 29 deutschsprachigen Universitäten gelehrt. Trotz ihrer kurzen Geschichte hat sie einen Korpus von kanonischen Texten ausgebildet, die für die Entwicklung und das Verständnis des Faches von zentraler Bedeutung sind. Sie müssen von allen Studierenden der B. A.- wie M. A.-Curricula zumindest kursorisch zur Kenntnis genommen werden. Das Studienbuch stellt wichtige Wegbereiter und Klassiker der Religionswissenschaft stets nach dem folgenden Muster vor: Biografie, Inhaltsangabe des (wichtigsten) Buches, ausgewählter Quellentext, Fragen zum Text, Würdigung, weiterführende Arbeitsaufgaben, Auswahlbibliografie. Ein unverzichtbares Lehr- und Arbeitsbuch für alle Studierenden der Religionswissenschaft, aber ebenso der Theologie beider Konfessionen und der Religionspädagogik.

This article can serve as an overview of the work of Yolanda Dreyer, or as an introduction to her work, by conversing with her as a public theologian in the tradition of Schleiermacher. The article highlights her passion to listen to the voices that are normally ignored or to hear what needs to be heard to transform discourses. It investigates the contribution of Yolanda Dreyer to public theology with regard to the newspaper columns she has been writing for more than 17 years. It compares aspects of her public theology with the theology of Friedrich Schleiermacher, which can be characterised by an internalised spirituality and a critical hermeneutic of suspicion towards the abuse of power. Gender injustice and cultural criticism are prominent themes within Dreyer’s public theology. She emphasises the vocation to speak out, but also the necessity to listen. These contributions also characterise Dreyer as a pastor-theologian.
