SummaryWith the intention of estimating the effect of the heterogeneous composition in the humic acid separately from its polyelectrolyte effect, comparative study on the interaction of Eu(III) with humic acid and polyacrylic acid has been carried out by the solvent extraction method with 10

For the quantitative description of the interaction of metal ions with humic substances, it is necessary to clarify the effects of both polyelectrolyte and heterogeneous nature of humic substances. To estimate the polyelectrolyte effect separately, polyacrylic acid (MW = 90000) has been selected as a representative of well-defined, homogeneous polymeric weak acids, and its interaction with Eu(III) has been investigated by a solvent extraction method using

AbstractThe complex formation constants of tetravalent plutonium ion with malonic and succinic acids in aqueous solution were determined by the solvent-extraction method. Also, by taking the known values of the solubility products, the hydrolysis constants and the formation constants, the experimental solubility data of plutonium in the presence of carboxylates were analyzed.
