Cymbidium sigmoideum (Orchidaceae: Epidendroideae) is reported here as a new record for the  Philippines based on the collection from Antique Province on the island of Panay. A detailed description and  photographs are provided for easy identification of the species. With this discovery, the Philippines now holds a total 13 species and three subspecies of Cymbidium. The main objective of the research reported herein is to present an annotated checklist generated from the first survey of myxomycetes in the limestone forests of Coron Island in the province of Palawan, Philippines. A total of 25 morphotaxa were identified from specimens isolated in the laboratory from samples of ground leaf litter, twigs, and vines (lianas) collected from five sites along the coasts and inland forests of Coron Island. Among the identified taxa one (<em>Badhamia macrocarpa</em>) was a new record for the country, while another was temporarily assigned to the genus <em>Perichaena</em> (Trichiida: Trichiidae) until the proper classification of the specimen could be determined. In addition, the present study brings the updated total number of records of myxomycetes for the Palawan group of islands to 56 morphospecies.

The mango leafhopper Idioscopus clypealis (Lethierry) (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) from the Philippines is parasitized bytwo genera of Strepsiptera, Halictophagus and Callipharixenos. A redescription of the male Halictophagus fulmeki(Hofeneder), a new record and description of its conspecific female and a key to Halictophagus in the Philippines aregiven, and a new species of female, Callipharixenos philippines sp. n. is described. The inclusion of the family Callipharixenidae as a subfamily Callipharixeninae within the family Halictophagidae is discussed.

Diaziella bizarrea van Noort & Rasplus sp. nov. is described from specimens reared from Ficus glaberrima and Diaziella yangi van Noort & Rasplus sp. nov. is described from specimens reared from Ficus curtipes in Xishuangbanna, China. Together with a new record of Diaziella macroptera Grandi from Thailand this is the first time the genus has been recorded from the Asian mainland. Previously the twelve described species of Diaziella were known from the islands of Borneo, Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi and the Philippines. Images are provided for both sexes of the two new species and for the female of D. macroptera. A key is included to all described species of Diaziella. Two new species of Stigmatodactylus from Palawan Island in the Philippines are described and illustrated. The taxa, which represent the first records for the genus Stigmatodactylus in the Philippines, are restricted to the ultramafic peaks of central Palawan. Cryptostylis carinata, originally described from New Guinea, is also documented, representing a first record for this species in Palawan.

Examination of material from various Japanese localities clarified that the estuarine crab Ptychognathus glaber Stimpson, 1858 is possibly restricted to the Ogasawara Islands, Japan. Specimens from the Ryukyu Islands, thought to represent P. glaber, actually represent P. lipkei N.K. Ng, 2010 instead, previously known only from Cebu, the Philippines. Ptychognathus glaber is redescribed in detail, and differentiating characters between it and P. lipkei are reassessed. Previous literature records of P. glaber are reviewed in the light of our findings. Genetic analysis using partial sequences of the mitochondrial 16S rRNA gene suggests that P. glaber is genetically closer to P. ishii Sakai, 1939 than to P. lipkei, and thus P. ishii is also compared morphologically with P. glaber.

Praniza larvae of a gnathiid isopod were retrieved from the gills and branchial cavity of wild-caught orange-spotted grouper, Epinephelus coioides (Hamilton, 1822) (Perciformes, Serranidae) in Lingayen Gulf, Philippines. The prevalence and mean intensity of the praniza larvae were 82.3% and 2.2 on the gill filaments and 23.5% and 2.5 in the branchial cavity, respectively. The praniza larva is described and illustrated as there has been no work on the morphology of the parasite in the country where it was collected, to date. This report involves a new record for larval gnathiid infection on E. coioides in the Philippines.

The four-spined pygmy devil (Arulenus validispinus Stål, 1877) is an endemic species to the Philippines. It was described more than 140 years ago from a single female specimen. Since its description, only a single new record was known, reported by Skejo from the Lanao region in 2017 and based on a specimen from eBay. Here, we record the species from the Bukidnon Mountains. We present measurements of a male and a female we collected, with the description of the species morphology and habitat. This species differs from its congeneric Mia’s pygmy devil (A. miae Skejo &amp; Caballero, 2016) by the sharp dorsal and lateral spines.
