First record of the fig wasp genus Diaziella Grandi (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Pteromalidae: Sycoecinae) from the Asian mainland with description of two new species from China

Diaziella bizarrea van Noort & Rasplus sp. nov. is described from specimens reared from Ficus glaberrima and Diaziella yangi van Noort & Rasplus sp. nov. is described from specimens reared from Ficus curtipes in Xishuangbanna, China. Together with a new record of Diaziella macroptera Grandi from Thailand this is the first time the genus has been recorded from the Asian mainland. Previously the twelve described species of Diaziella were known from the islands of Borneo, Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi and the Philippines. Images are provided for both sexes of the two new species and for the female of D. macroptera. A key is included to all described species of Diaziella. Two new species of Stigmatodactylus from Palawan Island in the Philippines are described and illustrated. The taxa, which represent the first records for the genus Stigmatodactylus in the Philippines, are restricted to the ultramafic peaks of central Palawan. Cryptostylis carinata, originally described from New Guinea, is also documented, representing a first record for this species in Palawan.

AbstractTirmizi & Kazmi (1988) reported sixteen majid crabs from Pakistan, later two more species were added (Kazmi & Tirmizi, 1995). In the present paper one species, Menaethiops nodulosus (Nobili), is being recorded for the first time from Pakistan and two species, Menaethiops gadaniensis and Pseudomicippe griffini, are being described as new. Pseudomicippe here presents the first record of the genus for this region. A note is also added on live specimens of Stilbognathus curvicornis (Herbst) previously reported from Pakistan from a dry piece of carapace only. Tirmizi & Kazmi (1988) ont signale du Pakistan seize especes de crabes Majidae, auxquelles se sont ajoutees deux especes supplementaires (Kazmi & Tirmizi, 1995). Dans le present article une espece, Menaethiops nodulosus (Nobili), est signalee pour la premiere fois de Pakistan et deux especes, Menaethiops gadaniensis et Pseudomicippe griffini, sont decrites comme nouvelles. C'est la premiere mention du genre Pseudomicippe dans la region. Une note est aussi ajoutee sur des specimens vivants de Stilbognathus curvicornis (Herbst), espece qui avait ete precedemment signalee de Pakistan seulement d'apres un fragment sec de carapace.

The genus Loxopsis Westwood, 1859 is reported from the Philippines for the first time. Two new species on the island of Mind-anao are described and figured from both sexes: Loxopsis sarmientoi n. sp. from Mt. Parker and Loxopsis tboli n. sp. from LakeSebu. The specimen identified as Loxopsis tuberculata Redtenbacher, 1908 by Klante (1975) represents a different, unde-scribed species which belongs in Paraloxopsis Günther, 1932. Two new species and one new record species of the genus Pseudonereis are described from specimens collected from ecological surveys of coasts of Taiwan and an offshore island during the past 15 years: P. jihueiensis n. sp., P. kihawensis n. sp., and P. trimaculata. Epitokes of P. jihueiensis n. sp. and P. trimaculata are also described. Pseudonereis jihueiensis n. sp. can be distinguished from congeners by having edentate jaws, χ-shaped ridge pattern of Areas VI–V–VI, parapodial morphology (i.e., length ratio of dorsal cirrus to dorsal ligule or presence of small pennant-like dorsal ligule, shape of dorsal ligule in certain region of chaetigers), and no heterogomph spinigers in the subacicular fascicle of the neuropodia. Pseudonereis kihawensis n. sp. differs from congeners by having crescent-shaped pointed-bars in Area VI, λ-shaped ridge pattern of Areas VI–V–VI, parapodial morphology (i.e., length ratio of dorsal cirrus to dorsal ligule or presence of small pennant-like dorsal ligule or shape of dorsal ligule in certain region of chaetigers), and no heterogomph spinigers in the subacicular fascicle of the neuropodia. Pseudonereis trimaculata, a species originally described from Indonesia, is reported from Taiwan for the first time. A table of key characters for all species of Pseudonereis is provided.

In this paper, we revised the physopeltine genus Physopelta Amyot & Serville, 1843 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Largidae) from Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. Five species were recognized and diagnosed, including two new species, Ph. (Neophysopelta) lutaspidata sp. nov. from northern and central Taiwan and Ph. (N.) fusciscutellata sp. nov. from the Ryukyu Islands, Japan and Taiwan, and three known species, Ph. (N.) gutta gutta (Burmeister, 1834), Ph. (N.) parviceps Blöte, 1931, and Ph. (N.) quadriguttata Bergroth, 1894. Physopelta (Neophysopelta) fusciscutellata sp. nov., was previously regarded as either of the two species, Ph. (N.) cincticollis Stål, 1863 and Ph. (N.) parviceps, for populations from Taiwan. Previous records of Ph. (N.) cincticollis from Japan proper and Korea, and Ph. (N.) slanbuschii (Fabricius, 1787) from the Ryukyu Islands were considered as misidentifications of Ph. parviceps. A key to facilitate the identification of the five species known in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan is provided. Additionally, Ph. (N.) parviceps is recorded from China (Guangdong Province and Zhejiang Province) for the first time.

Three water mite species of the genus Torrenticola Piersig, 1896 are reported from Foding Mountain National Nature Reserve, Guizhou Province, China. Torrenticola fodingensis Gu & Guo, n. sp. and T. tenuichelicera Gu & Guo, n. sp. are described and illustrated as new to science, and T. nipponica (Enami, 1940) is recorded in China for the first time, with the first description and illustration of its deutonymph. In addition, a key to the species ofTorrenticola in China is presented in this paper. The type specimens of the new species are deposited in Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, P. R. China (GUGC).

The genera Abaria Mosely 1948 and Drepanocentron Schmid 1982 are recorded in China for the first time. In this study, two new species, Abaria herringbona sp. nov., from Guang-xi, and Drepanocentron fuxiensis sp. nov., from An-hui, are described and illustrated. Male genitalia of these two new species is distinguishable from those of other Abaria and Drepanocentron species. In addition, Melanotrichia attia Malicky & Chantaramongkol 1992 is a new record for the Chinese caddisfly fauna.

Two new species of Taraxippus Moxey, 1971 are described and illustrated: T. samaraesp. nov. from Costa Rica and Panama and T. perezgelabertisp. nov. from the Dominican Republic. Both sexes and the previously unknown eggs are described. The genus is recorded from Central America for the first time. A distribution map and a discussion of the distributional pattern of Taraxippus are provided.
