The Multi-View extension of High Efficiency Video Coding (MV-HEVC) has improved the coding efficiency of multi-view videos, but this comes at the cost of the extra coding complexity of the MV-HEVC encoder. This coding complexity can be reduced by efficiently reducing time-consuming encoding operations. In this work, we propose two methods to reduce the encoder complexity. The first one is Early Coding unit Splitting (ECS), and the second is the Efficient Reference Picture Selection (ERPS) method. In the ECS method, the decision of Coding Unit (CU) splitting for dependent views is made on the CU splitting information obtained from the base view, while the ERPS method for dependent views is based on selecting reference pictures on the basis of the temporal location of the picture being encoded. Simulation results reveal that our proposed methods approximately reduce the encoding time by 58% when compared with HTM (16.2), the reference encoder for MV-HEVC.

Bisnis asuransi di provinsi Riau semakin tumbuh dan berkembang, setiap perusahaan termasuk PT. Prudential Indonesia berusaha mengeluarkan strategi baru untuk dapat merebut pangsa pasar yang tersedia,  namun apakah strategi yang sudah dibuat sudah sesuai dengan keadaan bisnis eksternal dan internal saat ini. Untuk itu diperlukan indentifikasi peluang, ancaman, kekuatan, kelemahan yang baik untuk menyusun strategi yang tepat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengindentifikasi pelaung, ancaman, kekuatan, kelemahan PT. Prudential Indonesia di provinsi Riau. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan analisis diskriptif dengan tahapan indentifikasi yaitu Eksteral faktor analisis (EFAS), Five force porter dan Internal faktor analisis (IFAS), VRIO, dan Resource base view. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahawa peluang, ancaman, kekuatan, dan kelemahan PT. Prudential Indonesia dalam keadaan baik dimana nilai kekuatan lebih besar dari nilai kelemahan dan nilai peluang lebih besar dari ancaman sehingga dapat membuat beberapa strategi pertumbuhan untuk merebut pangsa pasar di Provinsi Riau.

This study investigates the role of board capital on bank’s efficiency for a sample of 45 banks in Vietnam over 2011–2015. Using robust panel regression, we find board capital is important in making Vietnamese bank efficient even after controlling its endogeneity issue. This study further documents that networking capital and experience capital are the important factors, but not education for bank efficiency. The findings of this research contribute to the entrenchment hypothesis in agency theory, where networking and experience can be the bargaining power for manager (agent) in securing their compensation. It also contributes to human capital theory and resource base view theory where it shows networking and experience are stratetic human capital resources for bank efficiency. The findings imply that shareholders should consider the networking and experience of board members during board elections. Future research may engage with the intervention of corporate governance monitoring or test it in other developing countries context.

Multiview video consists of multiple views of the same scene. They require enormous amount of data to achieve high image quality, which makes it indispensable to compress multiview video. Therefore, data compression is a major issue for multiviews. In this paper, we explore an efficient fractal video codec to compress multiviews. The proposed scheme first compresses a view-dependent geometry of the base view using fractal video encoder with homogeneous region condition. With the extended fractional pel motion estimation algorithm and fast disparity estimation algorithm, it then generates prediction images of other views. The prediction image uses the image-based rendering techniques based on the decoded video. And the residual signals are obtained by the prediction image and the original image. Finally, it encodes residual signals by the fractal video encoder. The idea is also to exploit the statistical dependencies from both temporal and interview reference pictures for motion compensated prediction. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is consistently better than JMVC8.5, with 62.25% bit rate decrease and 0.37 dB PSNR increase based on the Bjontegaard metric, and the total encoding time (TET) of the proposed algorithm is reduced by 92%.
