The paper deals with the problem of optimal control with a convex integral quality index depends on slow variables for a linear steady-state control system with a fast and slow variables in the class of piecewise continuous controls with a smooth control constraints x ε = A 11 x ε + A 12 y ε + B 1 u, εy ε = A 21 x ε + A 22 y ε + B 2 u, J ε u ≔φ x ε T + 0 T u(t) 2 dt→ min, t∈ 0, T , x ε0 = x 0 ,u ≤1, y ε0 = y 0 , where x ε ∈Rn , y ε ∈Rm , u∈Rr ; A ij , B i , i, j =1,2, - are constant matrices of the corresponding dimension, and φ(·) - is the strictly convex and cofinite function that is continuously differentiable in Rn in the sense of convex analysis. In the general case, Pontryagin’s maximum principle is a necessary and sufficient optimum condition for the optimization of a such a problem. The initial vector of the conjugate state l ε is the unique vector, thus determining the optimal control. It is proven that in the case of a finite number of control switching points, the asymptotics of the vector l ε has the character of a power series.

The paper deals with the problem of optimal control with a Boltz-type quality index over a finite time interval for a linear steady-state control system in the class of piecewise continuous controls with smooth control constraints. In particular, we study the problem of controlling the motion of a system of small mass points under the action of a bounded force. The terminal part of the convex integral quality index additively depends on slow and fast variables, and the integral term is a strictly convex function of control variable. If the system is completely controllable, then the Pontryagin maximum principle is a necessary and sufficient condition for optimality. The main difference between this study and previous works is that the equation contains the zero matrix of fast variables and, thus, the results of A.B. Vasilieva on the asymptotic of the fundamental matrix of a control system are not valid. However, the linear steady-state system satisfies the condition of complete controllability. The article shows that problems of optimal control with a convex integral quality index are more regular than time-optimal problems.

The article is devoted to the problems of modernization of the existing fleet of metal-cutting machines. The purpose and objectives-to determine ways and practical recommendations for resource saving in the production of machine components for the manufacture of complex products. The methods used are comparative computational experiments to determine the performance characteristics of sets of replaceable gears. The presented material contains practical recommendations on the choice of evaluation indicators and improvement of sets of replaceable gears of two-pair guitars of various gear-processing machines (5B12, 5A308P, 5111 and 5K32) based on the results of research. Confirmed the possibility of improving the characteristics of kits while maintaining the number of wheels in the kits. In conclusion, it is noted that the proposed solutions contribute to an increase in the integral quality index by 1,2857 – 6,3742 times, a decrease in the total weight of the wheels of the set by 1,4824 – 3,3093 times, an increase in the number of realized gear ratios by 1,2622 – 3,7525 times, an increase in the average density of the values of the gear ratios by 1,2136 – 3,7781 times.
