In this paper, we present a new class of pseudo Picard operators in the setting of generalized metric spaces introduced recently in [M. Jleli and B. Samet: A generalized metric space and related fixed point theorems, Fixed Point Theory Appl., (2015) 2015:61]. An example is provided to illustrate the main result.

In this work, we introduce a new generalized metric space called b-generalized metric spaces (shortly, b-G.M.S). Also, we establish some fixed point results for a contraction of rational type in b-G.M.S. Some interesting examples are also given.

Abstract Z. D. Mitrović and S. Radenović introduced in [The Banach and Reich contractions in bv(s)-metric spaces, J. Fixed Point Theory Appl. 19 (2017), 3087–3095] a new class of generalized metric spaces and proved some fixed point theorems in this framework. The purpose of this paper is to consider other kinds of contractive mappings in bv(s)-metric spaces, and show how the work in the new settings differs from the one in standard metric and b-metric spaces. Examples show the usefulness of the obtained results.

We introduce the notion of generalized weaker(α-ϕ-φ)-contractive mappings in the context of generalized metric space. We investigate the existence and uniqueness of fixed point of such mappings. Some consequences on existing fixed point theorems are also derived. The presented results generalize, unify, and improve several results in the literature.

Fixed point theorems for almost contractions in generalized metric spaces are proved. The obtained results are extensions and generalizations, from metric space setting to generalized metric space setting, of many well-known fixed point theorems in literature.

AbstractA generalized metric space has been defined by Branciari as a metric space in which the triangle inequality is replaced by a more general inequality. Subsequently, some classical metric fixed point theorems have been transferred to such a space. In this paper, we continue in this direction and prove a version of Fisher’s fixed point theorem in generalized metric spaces.

Two concepts—one of the coupled fixed point and the other of the generalized metric space—play a very active role in recent research on the fixed point theory. The definition of coupled fixed point was introduced by Bhaskar and Lakshmikantham (2006) while the generalized metric space was introduced by Mustafa and Sims (2006). In this work, we determine some coupled fixed point theorems for mixed monotone mapping satisfying nonlinear contraction in the framework of generalized metric space endowed with partial order. We also prove the uniqueness of the coupled fixed point for such mappings in this setup.

In this paper, we establish coincidence point theorems for contractive mappings, using locally g-transitivity of binary relation in new generalized metric spaces. In the present results, we use some relation theoretic analogues of standard metric notions such as continuity, completeness and regularity. In this way our results extend, modify and generalize some recent fixed point theorems, for instance, Karapinar et al [J. Fixed Point Theory Appl. 18(2016) 645-671], Alam and Imdad [Fixed Point Theory, in press].

A fixed point theorems for pointwise contractive semigroup of self-mappings in setting of generalized metric space are proved. Using the basic result some consequences are derived. This is a generalization of some well known fixed point results in metric spaces.

In this paper, we establish fixed point theorems for Chatterjea contraction mappings on a generalized metric space endowed with a graph. Our results extend, generalize, and improve many of existing theorems in the literature. Moreover, some examples and an application to matrix equations are given to support our main result.

Rhoades (1996) proved a fixed point theorem in a boundedD-metric space for a contractive self-map with applications. Here we establish a more general fixed point theorem in an unboundedD-metric space, for two self-maps satisfying a general contractive condition with a restricted domain ofxandy. This has been done by using the notion of semicompatible maps inD-metric space. These results generalize and improve the results of Rhoades (1996), Dhage et al. (2000), and Veerapandi and Rao (1996). These results also underline the necessity and importance of semicompatibility in fixed point theory ofD-metric spaces. All the results of this paper are new.
