With the increasing expansion of Healthcare Information Systems, platforms for interoperability and monitoring systems have become vital tools to support the clinical practice. Under this scenario, the creation of knowledge in real-time to feed decision support tools is essential. INTCare is one the solutions that adapts the way that information is gathered and processed in order to obtain that knowledge. Once new information arrives, it triggers the ETL (extract, transform, load) procces enabling real-time processes like data mining. However, the system fails in recognize if a patient is absent from bed or not. This problem led to the development of the Patient Localization and Management System (PaLMS), a Radio-Frequency IDentification (RFID) serving as localization and monitoring system. This paper describes the PaLMS implementation as well as an intelligent Multi- Agent System for the integration of PaLMS into the hospital platform for interoperability named AIDA (Agency for Integration, Diffusion and Archive of Medical Information). At the end, an usability evaluation was performed in order to assess the level of usability of the existing systems at Centro Hospitalar do Porto, such as the PaLMS, the INTCare and the AIDA platform. In terms of usability, the system got very positive evalutions, despite the fact some medical staff argued that they lose too much time elaborating the records.

An alibi is a priceless thing that someone can rely on when in needs. A good data management can and will save someone life in respond to any unwanted situation.A simple, accurate and trustworthy data log for students in boarding school can and will help ease parent-teacher monitoring system. However, the conventional system require student to manually inform and record their log to their parents and teachers. The system is lacks of automation where a number of problem may arise. The problem includes the inaccurate logging time, misplace of outing card and an unorganized log record. Web-Based Boarding School Monitoring System (WEBMOS) Using MySQL Database and RFID Technology were invented to solve this problem. This technology offered a system that can record student log data in an accurate manner. The aim is to build a system that can provide the accurate data to parent and teacher via a single click through their personal device. This system uses RFID module technology to monitor the student’s logs activity in real time manner. The monitoring system involve the utilization of Arduino Mega, Ethernet Shield, Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Module. The system performs an automated data log after the student flashed their card to RFID reader, the data is uploaded to database after the card being flashed and the uploaded information can be view at the webpage at anywhere and anytime. Thus, thesystem is capable of collecting and recording aprecise real time data logging for student’s activity.

Monitoring of learning activities has a very important role to improve the quality of education in University. The research  aims to develop a monitoring system of learning activities in real time by using simple additive weighting and radio frequency identification technology.A simple additive weighting method is used to determine the weighting of each criterion involved in the system, while radio frequency identification technology is used electronically to identify and store learning activity information. Monitoring system built using learning activities data in the room and lecturer activities using radio frequency identification tag in real time. The results of the system include the recording of monitoring data of lecturing activities that produce lecturer attendance reports on each class in real  time, thus making efficient the time, effort and cost. The system also produces a ranking of lecturer discipline on each of the criteria that gives the difference of outcomes among the consistent lecturers present on schedule with inconsistent lecturers present on schedule. The results of monitoring of lecture activities can be used for university leaders as a decision-making material quickly based on actual data in real time to improve the quality of the learning process.

As the ageing of population is getting worse in China, both people and society pay more attention to the support and nursing of the elderly, establishing many gerocomium and monitoring system for the elderly. The monitoring system mainly focuses on the real-time monitoring, however, it is still not accurate and promptly enough in aspects of nursing, quick response, and fixed position accuracy. In order to reduce nursing accidents of the elderly, the semi-active radio frequency identification (RFID) technology has been utilized in the monitoring and positioning system. The tracking and monitoring system of gerocomium has been built based on the idea of the Internet of Things Engineering, realizing the function of quick fixed position, active help-seeking, basic information management, and information processing of activities of the elderly. Therefore, in the real-time monitoring system, problems like inaccurate positioning, slow response, and delay of nursing and assisting the elderly are properly solved.

Internal material supply management for manufacturing workshops usually suffers from message delay and abnormal logistics events, which seriously holdback the reactivity capability of production system. As a rapid, real-time, accurate information collection tools, Radio Frequency identification (RFID) technology has become an important driver in the production and logistics activities. This paper presents a new idea that uses RFID technology to monitor real-timely the abnormal logistics events which occur at each work space in the internal material supply chain and proposes its construction method in details. With the experimental verification of prototype system, the proposed RFID-based monitoring system can find in time the abnormal logistics events of internal material supply chain and largely improve the circulation velocity of production logistics, and reduce the rate of mistake which frequently occurred in traditional material management based on Kanban.
