This study aims to obtain empirical evidence of fraud triangle in detecting fraudulent financial statements. The variabbles of fraud triangle are pressure, opportunity, and rasionalization then divided into six independent sub-variables. Namely financial stabilty which is proxied by asset change ratio (achange), personal financial need which is proxied by oship, external pressure which is proxied by the ratio of changes in debt (lev), financial targets that are proxied by ROA (ROA), the nature of industry that is proxied by inventory (inventory), effective monitoring that is proxied by the proportion of independent commissioners (ind), and rasionalization proxied by auditor change (auchange). The population of this study are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2014-2017. the total sample of the study was 32 companies. Data analysis method uses logistic regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that financial stability variables, personal financial need, external pressure, nature of industry, effective monitoring, and rationalization have no effect on fraudulent financial statements. the results of this study can prove that financial targets have an effect on fraudulent financial statements. Further researchers can develop this research by adding sub-variables or using other proxies.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether financial stability, external pressure, personal financial need, financial targets, ineffective monitoring, and audit quality affect the financial statement fraud by collecting empirical evidence. The object of research is the companies from sector property and real estate which listing on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, with research period in 2010-2012. The samples in this study were selected based on purposive sampling method with a total sample of 14 companies. The analysis technique used in this research is multiple regression analysis using SPSS. These results indicate that the variable external pressure, personal financial need and audit quality effect on the financial statements fraud, meanwhile variables financial stability, financial targets, ineffective monitoring had no effect on the financial statements fraud. Variables financial stability, external pressure, personal financial need, financial targets, ineffective monitoring and audit quality simultaneously effect on the financial statements fraud. In the financial statements there is a possibility of misstatements in the presentation of company’s financial statements relating to errors or fraud made or caused by managers in the company. Misrepresentation in financial statements causes a decrease in the level of trust of users of financial statements and can harm stakeholders. The theories underlying this research include agency theory, fraud diamond, and good corporate governance. The research sample consisted of 46 manufacturing companies listed on the Stock Exchange in the period 2015-2017. Sampling is done by purposive sampling method. Hypothesis testing uses analysis of descriptive statistics, pooling test, independent sample t-test and logistic regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that financial stability, nature of industry, rationalization, and capability have a positive effect on the possibility of fraudulent financial statements. Whereas female on board has a negative effect on the possibility of fraudulent financial statements. But external pressure, personal financial need, effective monitoring and independent board of commissioners are not proven to have effect on the possibility of fraudulent financial statements.

This study examines the factors that influence the preparation and presentation of fraudulent financial statements basing on the fraud triangle theory. The purpose of this research is to examine and analyze the influences of financial stability (asset change), external pressure, personal financial need (insider ownership), financial targets, ineffective monitoring (by audit committee), and rationalization (auditor’s opinion) on making fraudulent financial statements. The population in this study is a manufacturing company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2013 to2015. Sample selection is by purposive sampling. Data used in the analysis was of 147 companies. The data analysis technique for hypothesis testing was by logistic regression analysis. Results of this research indicate that financial stability, external pressure, personal financial need, and rationalization have no significant effect on making fraudulent financial statements. Although the results of this study can not prove the factors that affect fraud in the presentation of financial statements, but companies need to be vigilant to prevent fraud in the presentation of financial statements. Companies must be able to perform early detection of the occurrence of fraudulent financial statements for the survival of the entity.

This research aims to examine, analyze, and obtain evidence the influences factors in fraudtriangle to financial statement fraud on Manufacturing Companies that Listed on IndonesiaStock Exchange. This research’s population are Manufacturing Companies that Listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange Period 2011-2015. In this research using purposive sampling method todetermine the samples. Total sample of this research are 57 companies. This research useslogistic regression analysis to examine the effects of various independent variables on financialstatement fraud. The independent variables in this research are factors in fraud triangle. Theresult of this research indicated that financial stability influences the financial statementfraud. However, other variabel like external pressure, personal financial need, financial targets,nature of the industry, effective monitoring, and rationalization were not influence on financialstatement fraud.Keywords: Financial statement fraud, fraud triangle, pressure, opportunity, rationalization

Financial statements generally aim to provide information about the company’s financial position, performance, and cash flows to the interested parties. The motivation to gain trust from the users, especially investors, shareholders and creditors, leads someone to commit fraud in the financial reporting. This study aims to detect and predict financial statement fraud based on the perspective of fraud triangle adopted by SAS No. 99. The dependent variable in this study is financial statement fraud which is proxied by earnings management, while the independent variables in this study are financial stability pressure, personal financial need, ineffective monitoring, effective monitoring, external pressure, and financial targets.Population of this research is manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange period 2012 - 2014. Samples are selected using purposive sampling method and obtained 150 companies out of a total population of 162 companies. The results show that financial stability pressure and external pressurehave significant positive effect on financial statement fraud. Meanwhile, personal financial need, ineffective monitoring, effective monitoring, and financial targets do not have significant effect on financial statement fraud.

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of financial stability, external pressure, personal financial needs, financial targets, nature of industry, ineffective monitoring, and rationalization of financial statement fraud on manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2012 to 2016 .From a population of 159 listed manufacturing companies, 72 samples were obtained that met the criteria. Testing using SPSS version 23 for logistic regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that external pressure and nature of industry have a significant influence on financial statement fraud. On the other hand, financial stability, personal financial need, financial targets, ineffective monitoring and rationalization have no effect on financial statement fraud.

The financial statements are structured representation of the financial position shows the financial performance of an entity. On the other hand, the Financial Services Authority in Indonesia gave the sanction to capital market players for cheating Financial Statements. This shows that the financial statement fraud cases occurring in Indonesia are part of the failure of an audit conducted by the Public Accounting Firm (KAP). This study aims to examine the influence of fraud triangle in detecting fraudulent financial statements. The object of this study using the financial statements of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the 2012-2014 time period. This study uses 123 data samples are taken using purposive criteria. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that razionalization significant effect on the financial statements fraud. Meanwhile, the financial stability, external pressure, financial targets, the nature of the industry, ineffective monitoring did not significantly affect the financial statements fraud. This study contributes to the regulators to adopt measures to improve the quality of audits, especially in detecting fraud.

Financial statements are a form of a report presented by a company that shows the financial performance of the company. In many cases of financial report fraud committed by Public Accounting Firm, they beautify the financial statements so that many investors are interested in the company. Therefore, this study aims to examine the influence of the Fraud Triangle factor in detecting fraudulent financial statements. The object of this study uses the financial statements of the Cigarettes and Cosmetics subsectors that are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2016-2018. This study uses thirty sample data using purposive methods based on criteria. Data analysis using logistic linear regression analysis. The results showed that Rationalization had a significant effect on financial statement fraud. Research aims: This study aims to examine the influence of fraud pentagon concept on fraudulent financial reporting.Design/Methodology/Approach: This study’s population was manufacturingcompanies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange and Malaysia Stock Exchange. 120 manufacturing companies in Indonesia and 118 manufacturing companies in Malaysia were involved as samples. The data analysis method used in this study is multiple linear regression.Research findings: The results showed that financial target, financial stability, quality of external auditor, external pressure, and nature of industry variables influenced fraudulent financial reporting. In contrast, personal financial need, ineffective monitoring, change in auditor, change in director, and frequent number of CEO’s pictures variables had no effect on fraudulent financial reporting. For Indonesia, it was found that financial target, financial stability, and the quality of external auditor influenced fraudulent financial reporting. While, in Malaysia, the results showed that financial stability, external pressure, and nature of industry variables influenced fraudulent financial reporting in Malaysia.Theoretical contribution/Originality: These results support the financial target and quality of external auditor hypothesis in Indonesia, financial stability hypothesis in Indonesia and Malaysia, external pressure and nature of industry hypotheses in Malaysia, stating that fraud pentagon factors affect fraudulent financial reporting. It is also proved that there are different levels of fraudulent financial reporting in Indonesia and Malaysia. Indonesia has fraudulent financial reporting cases higher than Malaysia.

This study aims to examine the elements of fraud in the fraud diamond theory. Fraud is proxied by seven variables consisting of three pressure elements namely financial target, financial stability, external pressure, two variables of opportunity element, namely effective monitoring and nature of industry, one variable from the rationalization element, namely change in auditor, one variable from capability element namely change in directors, which is hypothesized to affect financial statements fraud. This study uses earnings management to see the potential for fraudulent financial statements. Earning management is measured using the F-Score indicator. The research sample was selected using a purposive sampling method from 30 manufacturing companies and a research period of 5 years to obtain the number of sample units of 155 data which is listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period of 2013 to 2017. The hypothesis testing used a multiple regression analysis model using SPSS 23. The results of the study indicate that financial targets and changes in auditor financial stability have a significant positive effect on fraudulent financial statements. While external pressure, effective monitoring, nature of industry, financial stability, change of directors, have no effect on financial statements fraud.
