Abstract TENZALOY is an aluminum casting alloy developed for its high-strength and self-aging characteristics for castings that must have good dimensional stability and good corrosion resistance. Large and small intricate castings can be made without the danger of distortion associated with heat treatment. This alloy has such a high melting point that it can be brazed at temperatures up to 1100 F. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive and shear strength as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Al-15. Producer or source: Federated Metals Corporation, ASARCO Inc.. Originally published April 1954, revised October 1973.

Abstract Federated F050 is a 5% silicon-aluminum casting alloy recommended for intricate design and thin wall castings. It produces pressure tight castings and has a high resistance to corrosion. The F050 PT grade is specially processed during manufacture to reduce the apparent solidification shrinkage with no change in the chemical specification or mechanical properties. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive and shear strength as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-114. Producer or source: Federated Metals Corporation, ASARCO Inc..
